I adore horror movies.

Even though I seem to be the only one in my circle of friends who enjoy them. I love all the classic series (the originals not the remakes): Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Amityville, Howling, Evil Dead, Hellraiser, Child's Play, Romero's films, etc. I also loved the creature features Critters and Gremlins. I remember the SciFi channel playing the hell out of the Critters franchise in it's younger days.

I also have When A Stranger Calls, The Hills Have Eyes, and Leprechaun (though I'll admit, I always found that more funny than scary.) And though the scare factor has worn off, I also liked Carpenters The Fly, Carrie and Gothica.
I haven't been really impressed with some of the most recent horror films but I have enjoyed movies like Cloverfield, The Decent, Drag Me To Hell and Audition. Those are the one's that have creeped me out the most. I had high hopes for Saw, but that franchise disappointed me real quick. First one's still good though, even though it's more suspense than horror.
Actually the most recent movies I've liked that are liked to the horror genre are the ones that both emulate and make fun of them. Scream, Slither, Zombieland, and Shawn of the Dead come to mind. Oh! And Dead Alive. I love Dead Alive
Suffice it to say that I look forward to AMC's FearFest every year
