^ The Gamestop website had some 3DS games priced at $50, though some a speculating that that's just a place holder.

I myself wouldn't mind shelling out $40, but $50 will add up way to quick.

They are. I'm fine with it as long as they localize all the good stuff from Japan. Otherwise I'm going to have to buy 2 3DS's (plus hardware revisions because I'm a slut).

I know they are, that's why I commented that. If they didn't, everyone would import.

$250 is not too bad! I vowed I'd get it if it was $200 and wanted nothing to do with it at $300. We'll see how it goes, though, since it's hard to breathe under my backlog.

We will, we Europeans always get the expensive end of the stick. I think they will sell the console at 250€ not at 270€ in mainland Europe.

Region locking sucks. Not just because we are going to pay more but because we WILL miss many good Japanese games. Shumps and Musical Games have no chance of being translated.

Well, it won't really matter because pirates will crack it in two days, creating a way to play imports.

The DSi and DSiXL are technically region-locked, but only on DSiWare and choice games (the only ones I know of are Pokemon Black/White).

I was contemplating buying a DSI or a DSI XL for the DSIWare (really want to play that new Shantae game), but since you'll be able to play DSIWare on your 3DS I'll pass on those. I just pre-ordered my 3DS from Amazon. What color 3DS you guys plan on purchasing? I'm going for the Cosmo Black one.

$250 bucks doesn't seem that bad. It's kind of a shame that you get two preloaded games (which probably are going to be mediocre at best) whereas the launch of the DS had a demo for Metroid Prime Hunters AND (I think) Super Mario 64 DS as a pack in. Kind of a let down there, but not for Nintendo because most likely people will be buying Zelda, Kid Icarus, and Pilotwings on launch day.

So I'm going to be one of those 16 year olds that say "Hey mom, I don't want a car for my sweet 16, I just want a 3DS". Ooooh this is going to be epic.

The refined friend code system is an improvement, but not by much. I would've preferred usernames, but it's totally fine.

The only let down on the console is a possible region lock. Come on now, what's the point in that?
