PLEASE HELP! SOUND problems with sega saturn

Post by xmanatari »

so i bought my saturn....modded it... and i just finished burning around 100 games or so...the picture is fine and everything but the sound is VERY low...i stress VERY. Its like i can turn my tv up loud and hear the loud hiss through the speakers but the music and effects from the games are very low. I have to turn the tv up loud to hear the game, however, sometimes ill be playing and itll get loud and then soft again. Ive spent alot of money and time modding and burning and buying other things...anyone know how to fix it? i have it hooked up through the rf cable.

by the way...it does this on burnt games and real games.

ideas?

i´ve noticed similar problems with an rf cable i´d try a scart cable or rca that should work for the sound volume.

if the problem is the RF cable you can chop off the RF part and put regular RCA jacks, you'll only get mono and comp video though

Try picking up an a/v cable, they aren't too pricey. Sometimes the rf outputs go bad or one or more or the input pins get bent on the connection to the back of the Saturn.

Try here, I've had good luck with ordering from them:

i am having the same exact problem with my modded saturn!!! the weird thing is i also own an unmodded saturn (same model) which doesn't experience this problem when using the same a/v cord that i use for my modded saturn. so i am wondering if something went wrong in the modding process. hopefully i can get this sorted out asap.

You can always fire up the solding iron and take the mod chip off to see if it will work with your originals. If there is still a sound problem then you know it may have a blown capacitor or something. If not double check the skematics and try again! still sucks though... :(
