Supergun: Neo Geo MVS to TV

Post by turnip2 »

I have found numerous guides on how to build/ buy a supergun, but I want to convert a neo geo mvs... Easilly done, but there seems to be sound difficulties... What is the alternative/corect pinout for the neo geo- jamma please?

Where are you located? US/UK?

Also what MVS are you looking at getting/have got? one slotters have different audio out capabilities than 2/4 slotters. If you have a headphone jack on your board it may be easier to just get a 3.5 mm jack to stereo phono cable and then turn the amp pot right down on the board (otherwise you'll overload your TV speakers) and the use that for your audio.

BTW theres no hard and fast rule as to what board will have what as the MVS went through literally hundreds of hardware revisions across the range.

If you're in uk you can just wire your Jamma harness directly to a scart with your audio L/R and audio L/R ground. Just get a scart socket from maplins, and wire it up using a scart wiring diagram on the internet. Theres loads if you just google it. It's as simple as matching the wires. You also get true RGB out through the scart as well. By far the best option if your in the UK. (that was the reason for asking where you are because americans don't have RGB scart, they need to convert the signal to s-video which is a pain in the arse.)

True dat. Composite is a total waste of time on superguns and the convertor is $50-80! Lucky SCART bastards! I had one of the 13" SNES display kiosk monitors that supported RGB, 15kHz. I went crazy moding all my old 16-bit shit to plug into it. And to think across the pond, you have it for FREE! Games looked SOOO good in comparison to our RF/Comp/s-Vid crap.
