I love Gundam. I really love Gundam. I mean i played through Gundam Crossfire as both Federation and Zeon.
When I heard that Gundam Unicorn was getting a simultaneous worldwide release, I was ecstatic.
Then I saw that it was going to be Blu Ray only. I didn't have a player at the time, but I got a PS3 for Christmas so now i have one.
Now here is the problem.

70+ dollars for the first two eps, and that's not counting shipping.
I know the Japanese pay prices as high or higher than this, but I haven't seen prices this insane for anime movies since the MS IGLOO debacle a few years ago.
Now bandai did officially announce that the movies will be arriving on dvd at some point, with two eps per dvd. I would imagine the price would have to be lower, but these movies were made natively in HD which is not all that common for anime these days.
So what do you guys think?
Wait for the dvds or let my wallet get ravenged for the Blu Ray.
Oh, also keep in mind that Bandai is controlling who sells the Blu Rays in the U.S.
Only amazon and righstuff have been allowed to sell the Blu Rays so far, Bandai themselves is the only other seller for new copies of these.
Is Gundam Unicorn Worth Buying on Blu Ray
Re: Is Gundam Unicorn Worth Buying on Blu Ray
I would say wait. Gundam in the states is about to enjoy a new revival thanks to Turn-A being localized. FINALLY. There will be price drops.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I wonder if that will happen.Zeonik Freak wrote:Dude, im waiting till they all come to america and come in some bundle bluray set for probably like 100 bucks if that.
MS Igloo has yet to get a second release, and its insane expensive.
I wonder if they will go by the logic that people arent paying for the blu ray, not because the asking price is crazy, but because they think americans don't like UC Gundam.
