Thanks for the response. Well I just went to device manager and tried to update drivers for the drive and it said I had the most current driver. Is there another way to do it? I never thought that the drive itself could need updated.

Device manager only controls Windows drivers. You need to run the bluray vendor's software to update the drive. This could be as simple as inserting a CD/DVD with the firmware update. Or it could be running some Windows or DOS program.

What is the brand name/model of your BD drive?

With regards to this thread, I've ignored it all this time and finally read a bit today. Seems interesting.

I'm still getting over the Pats losing to the crummy Jets. Oh well, they can't win all the time. Now I'm rooting for the Packers. I'm still very appreciative that we have a good owner (Kraft) and a great coach. Still remember the dark years of Patriots football.

Why is there no love for the Bears? How are they underdogs, even though they won the same division that the Packers were expected to win?

Eh, we'll just use it as bulletin-board material anyway.

jp1 was helping me out and he also informed Device Manager would not be very helpful. I went to Samsung's website (maker of my laptop) and they didn't have any firmware updates for me. Sony did have a very recent firmware update for my drive, but it wouldn't work on my computer since I have a Samsung.

I have a Samsung NP-R480-JAB2US laptop and the drive itself is: TSST corp DVDWBD TS-LB23A.

To stay on topic: It is still really ticking me off and I got 4000 Microsoft points card in the mail today :).

You should check this one out....

http://www.samsungodd.com/korLib/popup/ ... A_SC01.exe

Maybe since it comes from Samsung it will work. It is fairly new as well.

Oh hell yes jp1!!! Downloaded and installed! Popped A-Team in (which didn't work before) and it worked now! It took forever to load, but that doesn't bother me as long as it eventually plays the disc.

Extremely grateful for the help. Thank you.
