Hasn't happened yet. I don't even know why or how grit would get anywhere near it. The games are either in the consoles or in the metal case. I don't buy used games (except retro ones but they stay in their own cases in my collection or they're cartridges). I understand how my music in the car gets scratched to fuck, it's filthy and discs are strewn about in the pockets, glove box, anywhere. I don't care. They're cheap shitty discs and if it stops working I just burn a new one.Hobie-wan wrote:It doesn't matter if they're nice padded ones as opposed to cheap vinyl only ones. If you get some grit in the padding it will still sit there and scratch the disc as you slide it in or out.Niode wrote:I don't see what's wrong with this. This is what I do. Sweet! I thought the old PSx/Saturn/SCD manuals were all too wide. (Though the Working Designs extras would never fit.)CRTGAMER wrote:Look at the pic

How about this? Store your games the way you want to, in the way that makes sense for you, and not worry about what other nerds on the internet think about it.

I figure he wasn't asking so much for justification as he was asking about the advantages/disadvantages of doings so.FiftyDollarCurse wrote:How about this? Store your games the way you want to, in the way that makes sense for you, and not worry about what other nerds on the internet think about it.

Exactly. If you are tight on space and need to do this, please don't cheap out on the binders themselves. Your games will thank you later.Niode wrote:I don't see what's wrong with this. My mum is kind enough to keep all my boxes at her house in my drawers and on my shelves. I'd love to have them all in their boxes on display, it's so convenient when you just want to choose a game. I just don't have the space where I live now.

I have one of these and use it for my burned games. It's great.optmusprimenumber wrote:how 'bout one of these?

no offense, but that looks like total shit. yes, they fit, and yes, it's convenient (i suppose), but it just looks totally stupid to me.CRTGAMER wrote:Look at the picpakopako wrote:Giant Binder/WalletAny option I missed?

- Con: Sliding may cause radial scratching, manuals may not fit
also the thought of someone breaking into my house and leaving with all my games in a relatively light load is pretty awful.

I have been swayed by enough arguments for keeping them in their cases. Last night I took all my games out of my DVD binders that had their original cases and placed them inside their cases. I plan on getting a bunch of empty generic DVD cases from Big Lots discount store for the ones that don't have their cases.

You can make those DVD cases look great if you print some box art from The Cover Project. I've been slowly moving most of my games out of my breakable jewel cases and into the DVD style. If you can afford the space it looks really nice and is a great way to store your collection.BurningDoom wrote:I plan on getting a bunch of empty generic DVD cases from Big Lots discount store for the ones that don't have their cases.

the thing about the cover project is you've gotta use really high quality paper in order to make them really shine. i had some slimline dvd case covers printed at office max, and they look phenomenal.
