Bible Adventures review pt1 (NES)
From what I understand, this game was not available in video game retail stores. The cartridge came in 2 different colors, blue and black, though there are no differences between the two. When you turn the game on, you get a selection of 3 games, Noah's Arc, Baby Moses, and David and Goliath. I'm going to start with Noah's Arc. The goal in this game is to get 2 of each animal into the arc. How do you do this? You pick the animals up over your head with Hulk - like strength and you carry them into the arc. Its rediculous as you watch Noah climb a tree or scale a cave wall while carrying multiple cows, horses, birds, and other animals. Sometimes you will find yourself struggling to pick up a runaway horse or monkey, which becomes really frustrating. And when you jump while holding certain animals, Noah drops them and you have to chase after them. Another problem is running. When you hold the B button, Noah runs fast enough to outrun the screen. As you progress through the levels you will notice that the layout of the level doesn't change at all. You literally play through the same level 4 times (the 4th being nighttime) with different animals to collect. Overall, this game is repetitive and dull, with it's bland music and boring game play, you will find yourself bored within 5 minutes of starting the game. I would rate Noah's Arc a 2/10. Check in soon for part 2 and 3 where I will review the remaining 2 games.

Hi! Welcome to Racketboy. I'm glad to see other members voicing their thoughts on gaming but if you want people to read your stuff, I have a few suggestions you might want to follow.
1. Don't group all your thoughts into one block of text. Remember to break up your ideas into paragraphs! The more lengthy a wall of text is the fewer the number of people that will actually bother to read it. This universally applies to all forum posts as well.
2. Don't break up a single game into multiple reviews even if you were to cover a multicart. It's confusing and inconvenient.
3. Add in pictures! As a journalism student one important lesson I've learned is that you should expect the average reader to have about a 20-30 second attention span. If they don't see a visual aid it makes the reader far more likely to lose interest in your work. A picture says a thousand words and also draws the reader in. Why else do newspapers devote so much expensive space to pictures on page 1?

You gotta bait the horses and monkeys with food.
Or beat them with it.
Personally I enjoyed the game, alot. When I was younger my cousin had it along with some other bible like games. Out of all of them including the other games on the Bible Adventures cart the Noah's Ark one brought the most entertainment. An old man running around with 2 horses and 2 cows on his head? Climbing trees while balancing them? Beating monkeys with coconuts so he can catch them? Amazing.

Always remember to back up your opinions with explanations or examples. It isn't ever good enough to say things like "the graphics are ok and the sound is bad but I like the fun gameplay". That's a gamefaqs quality post.
Always strive for excellence even when reviewing bad games!

Which web browser are you using? Internet Explorer? I suggest using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome because they have built-in spell checking to catch words not spelled correctly. Still, kudos to you for sharing your thoughts on a game and hope you continue to do so.retrogamer01 wrote:Thanks for the suggestions.
