Lost

Post by Gamerforlife »

Don't know if anyone else is following this show. I'm watching right now. I love what they're doing with the flashforwards. Can't wait to see where this season goes. Too bad about only getting eight episodes though due to the strike. The show was building momentum and heading towards the finish line(I think the season after this was suppossed to be the last)and then the strike happens. Oh well.

It'll tide me over until I get some new Battlestar episodes in April

The first episode of the new season debuted in Australia yesterday. I think that this writers strike has brought forward the series here which is awesome. The flash forwards are very intriguing. :o

Hell yeah! I'm stoked and horrified that the 4th season has started. I've really enjoyed the 1st episode and will watch epp 2 soon but I can't stand than the season might be 8 episodes... It's almost as bad as the 6 episodes and a long break that we had in season 3.
I just hope that the remaining 8 episodes of S4 will be added to S5 and S6 so we aren't short changed and it affects the storytelling.
Best show/movie in 10 years for me~ :D

Several of my coworkers got me started in it a couple weeks ago. I am in the middle of season 3 and Locke is the main reason I keep watching. Well Locke, the dinosaur, and the horse.

What I love about the flash forwards is that they've simultaneously addressed the complaints about too many flashbacks, and the ones about the story never going anywhere.

There's a part of me that hates Locke right now because of something he did last season, but I don't know if you've watched that far yet. I'll just say that it is an episode that focuses mostly on him and Sawyer

Speaking of Sawyer, I think him, Sayid and Hurley are my favorite characters. Sawyer just seems to get the best lines, Sayid is equal parts badass and brains, and Hurley is such a down to earth, honest guy with a big heart. It's hard not to like him.

I recently read something online indicating that a deal has been reached regarding the writer's strike. I hope it's true, so they can get to work on the season's remaining episodes, but you can't believe everything you read online. So I'm still keeping my ear to the ground about this strike

Lost is definatly the best show I've seen since Twin Peaks and season 4 on track so far. The flash forwards are great. I and really like how they always kill off the really annoying characters!!! Adding Jeremy Davies is great too.

So who do you think was in the coffin on the season finale? It might be Locke or Ben....i don't know yet. Six people came back from the island, and they've made it clear the rest are still there. Hopefully we will learn a bit more about the hostiles and the corperation who hired the "rescue" team.
great show....only reason I watch TV.

^its the only reason that I watch TV beyond the news (because Australia is such a small country our TV News is fne and not complete garbage ^_^).

I use to really feel for Locke, such a great guy put through some ba circumstances. But now (like Gamerforlife) I really dislike him, he seems to be more set in his ways. I think that the producers want to step up this faith vs science arguement between Jack and Locke.

I hope we aren't spoiling anything for you fastbilly1. You might want to stop reading until you're fully caught up. I'm gonna throw a spoilers warning here as I'm going to reference the season 3 finale

There are two important bits of info regarding the coffin:

John Latham or Lantham is the name. Could be an alias

Survived by a teenage son. Hmmm.

It's interesting that everyone assumes it is someone we know already. I think it would be funny, if a new character named John Latham is introduced sometime this season.

Okay, this post is also spoilerish for anyone who isn't caught up

I view Locke as no different from Ben now. We saw Locke use and manipulate Sawyer last season because he wasn't MAN ENOUGH to do the deed himself(killing his father). This was Locked using someone for his own ends. Something Ben does every day of his life. This pretty much brought an end to Sawyer's attempts at trying not to be a killer anymore, as the season finale proved. Probably the lowest point for Locke's character of the entire series.

Like Ben, Locke is getting better and better at justifying whatever awful things he does, like blowing up a submarine that might have forced Ben to let Jack and Juliette off the island, or forcing Sawyer to kill his father, or sticking a knife in someone's back with no warning whatsoever. I mean seriously, that was like an assasination. No honor in that kill. And even if he's right about Naomi, so far he is unable to back up that claim. So essentially we've got an unjustified murder. But hey, he did it for the greater good he says. Isn't that what Ben is always saying?

Now we may learn that Locke is right about everything, but to me, Locke has become the equivalent of a dangerous religious fanatic. He ALWAYS follows his faith in the island no matter WHAT it asks of him. I don't like that about him. He sees an apparition of Walt telling him to go murder someone, and he's like, "Okay, sure. Let me get my knife".

I'm surprised at some negative comments people have made about Jack pulling the trigger in this season's premiere. Lock murdered someone, and as far as Jack could tell, it was without cause. I would have pulled the trigger too. I mean he's trying to ensure the safety of his people and Locke just seems like a dangerous wild card. Notice the, "I'm not going anywhere with that man" comment from Rose. Can you blame her?
