What's wrong with the handle? I found it rather convenient...
OK, I will give it props for being a roll-bar for the Gamecube and forces enough spacing for the wiring and vents in the back, but that just expands the footprint of the system say for storage purposes.

An added question, but isn't it bad for systems with moving parts (lens drives, hard drives) to be tilted, even when powered off?
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

That probably depends on how it's built. There's still some argument as to whether or not the vertical position shortens the
life of the PS2, for example. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to do any damage to the Wii or the PS3.

Not really. The danger comes from the gyroscopic effect of a disc or hard drive spinning quickly and then having the system rotated. The disc will resist being rotated and could scrape on other things since it may only have 1MM clearance or so in the system. This is what happens with 360 systems since it seems to be one that people liked to decide to pick it up and change orientation while in the middle of a game. Everyone would blame MS because they forgot their physics. Not that you'd rotate a GC since it isn't made to do that, but it would be less likely to scratch a disc since they're small discs and the gyroscopic effect is smaller.

Not all of them have bad sound, the later model 2s have pretty good sound quality. Mine's one of them, although I had the Crystal Clear Audio Mod done on it so the sound quality is even better than it was.

The sound on mine is great too. I guess others aren't as lucky then. I didn't know some were different from others.

Between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 there are 5-7 different revisions with different video and sound output qualities.
