Where did you read this?
I think I found the info of it being CG and a complete reboot on a Japanese poster for upcoming anime series'. I don't remember where it was but I'll try to find it again. There's also some info on the official Berserk Twitter account: http://twitter.com/berserk_project (You have to translate everything).
Also, I'm pretty sure it's not going to stop at 25 episodes, I think it's going to the end of the comics (Whenever those finish).

There are some clips on YouTube that show you exactly what they're going for.
I saw them, and they look good for the most part, but they're too short and too low res for me to really be sure. It looks like it might be done with everything except the (human) characters done in 3D, but we will see.
Well it's been announced that it's not an anime series that's coming out... It's a movie series!
Here's what is known about it so far:
- It will begin as a series of movies, being referred to as the "Berserk Saga"
- The series will adapt the whole story, with nothing cut out
- The first movie will be released sometime around June 2011
- CGI will be the main animation method
- The movie series may spawn an OVA/series in the future

I hope it doesn't take too long to get to North America and get dubbed (Subs aren't for me).
Also, here's the trailer for those who haven't seen it
Looks pretty good, loving the Skull Knight picture. I know I'm just being picky, but I'm not big on the small facial feature changes the characters seem to have gotten. I hope this spawns more adaptations of the manga, post Golden Age.

Yeah, they're doing the whole manga. The first three movies are just the golden egg arc though. So this movie saga will be going for a long time.
