Looking for free software to organize media collection

I want to find a piece of freeware that I can use to organize Blu-Ray discs/DVDs, CDs, video games, books, etc. that uses a web cam to look-up bar codes from the internet and build a database. I previously used Libra but it is now defunct. Here are some links to give you an idea what it was like:

Even if someone knows one that will look up from UPC entry and is free speak up as I actually have a barcode scanner.

The only PC alternative I know is called MediaMan. It's a pretty blatant rip-off of Delicious Library, but it's a fine piece of software. Unfortunately it also costs money. I have a Mac and use DL myself but I know many people use backloggery.com to organize their collections.

Even though backloggery registration is due to reopen soon, it's only intended for games, which doesn't hep him organise DVDs, bluerays etc.

I love Delicious Library. Never found anything that does the same job on Windows though.

You _may_ want to give Gurulib a try. Its an on-line cataloging system that I've had some success with. It pulls data from a variety of libraries (including amazon, some universities, etc.), so will have a surprising level of thoroughness. Alot of games are in it, but some of the rarer, older stuff is missing. I suspect most 16-bit titles are present; but some of the more obscure Intellivision and 2600 carts I had to manually enter.

I acutally love Gurulib. If there was an app for my droid that would sync between the barcode reader software and gurulib, it would be amazing. But, even so, Gurulib rocks my world. It allows you to organize your collection, lend out stuff, and compare your collection to other people -- largely so you can find new things from people who have similar tastes.

You can also buy a Cuecat off of ebay for a few bucks and have a decent barcode scanner.

There is! It's called PC_BCR. It takes some work to get it running, but it turns your Android device into a scanner.

I just got it working on my Samsung Transform. Scanner function doesn't work great. Not sure if it is me or the camera. PM or post if you want help troubleshooting the installation.

Amazon.com HAD a media library organizer that you could use (through your web-browser). However, things eventually got glitchy and never got fixed. So no go, now.

Gamespot works for just video games. I have over 300 games cataloged on it. However it's just games, no movies, no music, no gaming accessories, no consoles.
