Pretty decent straight-to-DVD horror movie. It starts off like an intense teenage "Cool Hand Luke"-type film (sadist warden, hot Florida locale, etc), but quickly evolves into a supernatural thriller.
Riddled with guilt over the loss of his rock star older brother, 16 year old David Forrester (Ricky Ullman) becomes obsessed with death, leading his misguided parents to send him to Driftwood, an "Attitude Adjustment Camp for Troubled Youths" run by the sadistic Captain Doug Kennedy (Diamond Dallas Page) and his brutal young henchman, Yates (Talan Torriero). Once there, David becomes haunted by the spirit of Jonathan (Connor Ross), a former inmate who met a mysterious end; a mystery whose resolution could very well be David's only way out.
FYI, Ricky Ullman is credited as "Raviv Ullman", his birthname. And yes, that is "Phil of the Future" Ricky Ullman.

Samurai X Trust and Betrayal: WOW  The cinematography was unbelievable, the score was topnotch, and it overall was a wonderful theatrical interpretation of what Watsuki told about Kenshin's past.

The combination of photographs and footage for water, fire, and scenery, also gave the film an interesting ambiance.

Watched Dead Air last night. This is pretty much Pontypool, but with more action taking place outside of the radio station (that is not a spoiler). A lot of people didn't like this movie, but I thought it was really good. Especially Bill Moseley. I have never seen Moseley as a normal character and he is a pretty decent actor. This guy has always played characters that instills fear and I was impressed at how well he can play a character that shows fear. Patricia Tallman also had a pretty significant role and she was fantastic.

Last night I watched a movie called Mary and Max. It is a wonderful animation for adults. Deals with issues like alcoholism, mental disability and friendship. Is really great. It has a nice mix of comedic quirkiness and sadness. Made me cry. Movies never make me cry.

I got really into this one. If you have Netflix you can watch it instantly. I recommend it.

Really good supernatural thriller from India, much in the tradition of The Ring.

Black Swan

The best film of the year. Although The Road, Inception, and True Grit (Haven't seen The Fighter yet) are the only real films I see getting possible nominations, this one deserves the nomination and award because its the most realistic horror film I've seen in the longest time.

Exit Through the Gift Shop

A film by Banksy and is about street art in general, with focus on this Mr. Brain Wash guy. Very interesting and I'm glad my friend recommended it to me. I really do think less of the total I.Q. of the population of Los Angeles thanks to this movie. A spray paint eyepatch over a printout of Mona Lisa? ART!

So... does anyone else watch Bollywood films?

Also, I double DARE someone here to go onto NetFlix's Instant Watch list and find and watch a Bollywood film. My top six recommendations:

* Jab We Met (overworked exec meets spirited chatterbox)
* Pyaar Impossible (nerdy protagonist gets second chance to win the heart of college crush)
* Fear (amnesiac woman pursued by ghost)
* Bachna Ae Hasseeno (heartbreaker gets heart broken and seeks forgiveness from past flings)
* Dhoondte Reh Jaoge (Bollywood take on "The Producers")
* Rang De Basanti
