By all means, do blow your cartridges to your heart's content. Just be aware that you're not helping the game's life.
And in the end, we collectors are the ones that have to deal with it.
Indeed, when they throw up their hands and post the game on ebay with a "Sold as-is, no system to test it" then people like us end up with them and have to clean up their mess. But then we might get the game cheap and rescue it.
Don't know why you lot freak out over blowing into the cart. If you rub the cart with a q tip and it still doesn't work there isn't much that can be done, even if you use cleaning fluids.
I suppose blowing into the cart is something people do by habit, blowing the cart doesn't really do much but pulling the cart out everytime it refuses to work doesn't help either.
Anyway in my experience the game either loves you or hates you, you can blow it, wipe it, open it and it may still not want to work. Same goes for the console.
I love how the Magus guy told me that they already explained how blowing into carts doesn't cause corrosion, but I've yet to see a post explaining that.
Just found this for anyone who is interested.

Oh by the way, XxBroBuzzxX... You should probably quit arguing on gamespot... even though they can't provide evidence, etc it doesn't really matter.
I'm not telling you that you can't keep the discussion going but its kinda pointless talking to a brick wall. Know what I mean?
...If they don't accept advice now they never will...

You have not provided proof that blowing into carts causes game-breaking failure. How many blows and at what frequency does it take to cause permanent, game breaking corrosion? To even attempt to figure this out you would need a brand new cart that has never been exposed to any humidity. The air in your house is humid (even the driest points on Earth are humid); you would need a clean room environment. Then you would need to blow at some rate and periodically test if the cart works. If the cart doesn't work, you would have to show the cause is related to blowing. Then you would need to clean the cart to see if you could get it to work. If the cart does work, you would repeat this entire process until the game no longer functions. If you did this and documented it properly then you might have some proof that someone could take seriously. Right now you don't.
We don't need to prove anything. We haven't even had carts die due to corrosion, let alone try to comprehend the cause of it. We have several hundred games in aggregate, a significant sample size.
No one here is saying not to use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. It may be necessary if blowing doesn't work. But you might as well try blowing first...it's not going to hurt anything.

We've told them about 5 times how and why blowing into carts cause corrosion. DO THEY EVEN READ THE POSTS?!
If I had the time, I'd write a huge post explaining clearly how and why blowing into carts cause corrosion. That'd shut'em up.
