I don't know how I could have possibly skipped over my record and comic collecting. I've recently come into some really good deals. I got everything from kiss to pink floyd to zeppelin and zappa for $1 each the other day. I've been buying for another guy and that's been paying for my records. I now have Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on CD, original release double vinyl album, dvd and original release 45rpm single.
I don't have a huge collection of comics. I'm really into the punisher. My most valued, not necessarily valuable, comics are Punisher #2 and Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #4. The Nick Fury comic is from 1968.
Other hobbies?

I read a lot of sci-fi... lately: greg bear, neil stephenson, and jack chalker
my fav authors would also include, Glen Cook, Steven Brust, George R. R. Martin, Philip K. Dick, Bruce Sterling, Jim Butcher, Kurt Vonnegut and a few others if I dig around. I like alot of old sci-fi 50's 60's stuff. I like cyberpunk. I like fantasy stuff but I am very picky about what I will read.
had to double check what I posted, can't believe I forgot to put William Gibson on there, he is top shelf as wellfastbilly1 wrote:I have a friend who is a huge Gibson fan, and by that I got introduced to Sterling, good stuff. However I am trying to find copies of all of the Oz books. Only 100 or so to go...

Nope, but it is on the to read list. One of my cousins got a Kindle recently and I had to give him a good book to read. So I gave him Neuromancer. I also went to this site on the browser, but I dont think anyone cares to hear about that. Instead I am going to break the margins with an image. The figures come as the grey plastic seen in the upper left, I painted the others with a mix of good and bad paints. By default the terrain is represented by the flat tile in the foreground, ten minutes with a hobby knife and some paint and I made the others:

Yes we wargamers* are a bit crazy. And bonus points for whoever figures out the colour scheme on the riders - eventhough this is a very easy one.
*Battlelore is considered a light wargame. It is a farcry from something like ASL or Panzer Leader; but it is fun, easy to teach, and pretty. Dont get me wrong, I love chits but if the choice is chits or minis, well I am an ameritrash fan...

Hrm, let's see...
I'm a pretty big film buff. That's my concentration in my Comm major, and I pretty much enjoy everything. I'm not too big on romcoms and westerns, though. There Will Be Blood was the best movie I saw in a while. I've seen all of the Best Picture nominations except for No Country for Old Men (and yes, I'm well aware that that won.
)
I'm also a pretty heavy reader. Again, anything, but I particularly like children's fiction. Maybe that's because I'm gearing my career after college to being a children's book editor. Some good stuff I've recently read is The Bartimaeus Trilogy (Jonathan Stroud), and Garth Nix's Seventh Tower series.
I'm also into the board games as well. I'll play basically ANYTHING, but my personality lies more with the Ameritrashers than the Eurogamers. Euros don't really do it for me. Settlers is awesome, but games like Carcassonne and Alhambra bore me to tears. I'd take Risk and Stratego over those any day. I recently purchased Memoir '44 and Dungeon Twister, so we'll see how that turns out. The big ones I want to purchase in the future are mainly Fantasy Flight, especially Arkham Horror.
Other than that... I dabble in writing creatively, and reading about RPGs. I also like collecting baking recipes, even though I don't cook all that much. I love visiting museums and eating out as well (there are plenty of opportunities for amazing food here in NYC). I'd say that's about it.
