Replica Island is a good free Android-exclusive platformer, and is one of the few games that actually performs better with a trackball. There are also stellar ports of the first 3 Quake games, but as you can expect, you can only comfortably play them on a mid-to-high-end Android device. Tux Rider is a port of a Linux game, and not too bad-looking for an early 3D Android game. Don't forget the emulators, either; unlike iOS, they can be purchased directly from the Market. Finally, Cestos 1&2 are both excellent mobile online games, and a seriously addictive time-waster.
As for iOS ports to Android, Game Dev Story is a great little simulation game that was just recently ported over. Some other good ports are Angry Birds, Zenonia, N.O.V.A, Pocket Legends, and Reckless Racing.

Honestly there are some games that are mentioned above that are really quite good. Then again if you have an Android phone like mine with only touch screen controls, certain games and emulators I find just don't control as I'd like them to. I play Angry Birds and Slice It on my Acer Liquid E. For pretty much everything else I just pull out my PSP, and I've got all my emulators and other games on there.

I played the Sky Force demo (shmup). Somewhat decent touch controls, liked the graphics, and the music was awesome. Considering buying it.
