It's the most simplistic, but also the most punishing bosses in the original series. It's the only level where hitting the Egg-O-Matic at all is a mistake punishable by death.
Letter to Labyrinth Zone on Sonic the Hedgehog

The music alone is enough to make me forgive this level, but that boss.

Labyrinth zone is probably my least favorite group of levels of any game ever. The only thing I hate about sonic 1

You know what, as a kid I lost many many lives on this boss, but now I beat him on the first try. Don't remember, do you have to hit him a number of times before the level ends, or you just have to survive climbing up the level full of traps?Reverend wrote:The music alone is enough to make me forgive this level, but that boss.![]()

I'm pretty sure you just wait out the level and make it to the top.

I usually bash the hell out of the Eggmobile before it escapes... just because, though. I don't really care about the bonus points for doing it.Reverend wrote:It's the most simplistic, but also the most punishing bosses in the original series. I was actually playing the Labyrinthe Zone in Sonic 4 last night. Didn't enjoy it at all and the boss was crap

I got really sick of balancing on the giant boulders in those levels. The first time was like "Heh, okay whats next." After number five-or-so, in one act mind, "Okay, knock it off."Gamerforlife wrote:I was actually playing the Labyrinthe Zone in Sonic 4 last night. Didn't enjoy it at all and the boss was crap

Yeah, I often get annoyed by game designers taking an idea and overusing it. The only level I've enjoyed so far is Road of Cards. It's the only stage that has some of that old school magicProfessorK wrote:I got really sick of balancing on the giant boulders in those levels. The first time was like "Heh, okay whats next." Sonic 4 is a weird game. For a sequel to sonic 3 & Knuckles, it has none of the gameplay improvements of those games(like shield abilities). Plus, the whole game feels like a Sonic 1 remake. What in the hell makes this SONIC 4?

I have not tried Sonic 4 yet but I have not heard good things about it either. Not sure I want to.
