Another Mario on the Wii?
Re: Another Mario on the Wii?
Do you think we're that close to the next generation of consoles?
Re: Another Mario on the Wii?
I'd consider Super Paper Mario a platformer. Though Paper Mario for the GC and N64 were RPGs.gtmtnbiker wrote:I think the issue is that these are RPGs, not platformers.corn619 wrote:I'd like to see a Mario RPG game on the Wii that doesn't have Paper in the title. Speaking of Paper Mario, would you consider Super Paper Mario a original Super Mario game? Does having 'Paper' in the title exclude it?
Re: Another Mario on the Wii?
I agree, another decent Mario game for the DS would be amazing. NSMB only gets you so far.
Am I alone here in wanting another freaking Mario Party on Wii? Nostalgia speaks wonders, and I know that MP2 was just released on Virtual Console.
But I wouldn't mind another Mario platformer on DS, maybe before the 3DS comes out they can squeeze one out.

I think another MP would be great. MP8 stunk in my opinion. I found it to be too slow compared with the previous versions. Games would take ages to finish.Josh wrote: Am I alone here in wanting another freaking Mario Party on Wii? Nostalgia speaks wonders, and I know that MP2 was just released on Virtual Console.

They always took that long. I played 8 and it was no slower than 4 or 5 which I also own. I think the whole series needs a good speeding up tbh.gtmtnbiker wrote:I think another MP would be great. There was something quirky about it, but honestly I found some of the boards rather gimmicky, and it's been that way pretty much since MP6. There were some good qualities about it, but I feel they could've done so much better. And because of this and fan reaction, they've given up on the series and APPARENTLY thought that instead of reviving the series and making it better, they'd just go ahead and release then even MORE gimmicky Mii's. Sorry for the mini-rage.gtmtnbiker wrote:I think another MP would be great. MP8 stunk in my opinion. I found it to be too slow compared with the previous versions. I just dont see this happening yet. They still have more to cash in on the current titles. They need a true hd competitor first.

Re: Another Mario on the Wii?
True; Super Paper Mario was a platformer with RPG elements. As other people have stated I do want another Mario Party game on the Wii... I have never actually owned one and 8 didn't look like the right game to jump in the series with. What I really want the most out of everything is another Mario Golf game. Me and my friends spent hours playing the first two (mainly Toadstool Tour) and I am really missing the series nowcorn619 wrote:I'd consider Super Paper Mario a platformer. It seems that Nintendo (along with Microsoft & Sony) are content on squeezing a few more years out of their current consoles. So I think it's quite likely that we'll see another original Mario game on the Wii.
Personally, I'm hoping for another NSMB. There's nothing like the classic Mario formula. It's pure magic.

Re: Another Mario on the Wii?
It's hard to say. One of the things that separates Nintendo from most other developers these days is that they place an emphasis on taking their time with major titles and releasing a quality product instead of just churning out new games in a cash cow franchise as fast as possible. They're already pushing the bounds of how many major Mario games they would normally release in a 5-year cycle. As much as I'd like to see another one, it would be very much like Nintendo to hold off until the next platform.
