Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare (ps3)
Soul Calibur 3 (ps2)
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Snes) *NEW*

Total: 3

Beat Yoshi's island. Although I felt disappointed in the beginning, I kept coming back to this game. I expected something more SMW like, but Yoshi's island wasn't that bad. It was harder for me and I enjoyed the difficulty challenge. It was different but still enjoyable. This year is gonna be loaded with playstation games for me. Ill be surprised if I can beat at least one game on each of my consoles (Nes and 2600 being the hardest). Half life 2 episodes 1 and 2 are next to get me pumped for portal 2!

CoD: Black Ops
Fallout: New Vegas
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood [NEW]

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was an overall amazing game. The game is set in mid-Renaissance Rome and some of Florence. New technology like guns are appearing throughout the world and some high-ranking guards use them for protection. Ezio still looks badass in his white cape and hood strapped to the teeth with a variety of weapons. The combat system is the same as the past Assassin's Creed games but, as always, the scales are still tipped in your favour when you are in a sword fight. The story of the game is great because actual historical characters are put in to create an actual realism that some other games lack. Desmond's story, however, is set in 2012 and you are in charge of finding the Apple of Eden (again...) to save the world. Desmond's story is always key to the game because it adds that sci-fi element that we all love so dearly. Plus Shaun is a total genius and everyone wants to be like him. :D

Overall, I give the game 9.5/10. I always take off because the game lacks a hard-save feature which means when you die, you start over where the game last autosaved (which is often, but it's still annoying)
War. War Never Changes.

Shaun is a total meanie. I don't know anyone who actually gives 2 cents about him.

Buck and the coin of destiny (iPhone)
FIFA 10 (DS)
007 Goldeneye (Wii)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii)
Snk vs Capcom: match of the millennium (NGPC)
Total games beat: 5

So for me, Goldeneye is a blast to play from start to finish. It retains the Bond theme and even though it has nearly nothing to do with the original Goldeneye, it is a good game for the Wii. As for story mode, it is around 6-8 hours to beat plus at least another hour of cutscenes. Which leads me to tell how well the voice acting is as it it top notch. The levels have variety and the tank level is a nice change of pace of the constant shooting. The local multiplayer works well with several premade classes and with no slowdown. The preferred way to play this game is the classic controller pro, followed by the classic controller. The online portion is fun and each level you go up, it gives you and incentive (guns, gadget, etc). My main gripe with the game is that on single player story and the online multiplayer. This has cost me several deaths and could be a dealbreaker for some. This is unacceptable in single player. Overall I enjoyed the game and will say that you'll get your $50 worth of gameplay.

Now I have been in a vs mood lately ;)

Tatsunoko vs Capcom is the best 2d fighter on the Wii and is a must play for anyone fans of the vs series. I'll admit that I was at first hesitant but gave it a try and glad that I did. This is a tag team 2d fighter placing capcom against a Japanese anime studio known as Tatsunoko. It was simplified for the Wii as you only have 3 buttons: 1 is for your regular attacks, 2 is for special attacks, and B is for your partner. This simple combat system is accessible for newbies, but seasoned veterans of fighting games can spend time learning character's special moves. Athough the wiimote was fine to play, I eventually opted for the classic controller since it more resembled a more traditional layout. The CPU was pretty easy, but the boss, Yami, was tough since he has 3 forms. The hardest form, imo, was his second one but after a couple of tries, I beat him. I bought the TvC arcade stick, thinking I'd do better but don't spend your money on that crap. Oh, and I beat it with Ryu and Casshan 8)

Snk vs capcom is probably the best game on the ill fated handheld, the NGPC. I play this game anytime in in a fighting mood on the go and my only option for a vs game in a portable. The game uses a simplified approach as other fighters do on the handheld; A to punch and B to kick. I beat the tourney on tag mode with Ryu and Terry. The end bosses were tough; Geese and M. Bison. It took me a couple of tries but prevailed in the end. If you own a NeoGeo Pocket Color, then pick this game up!

Why does everyone hate Capcom?

Games Beaten 2011

1. Karateka – Atari 7800
2. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest – SNES
3. Alien Crush – TG16
4. Altered Beast – GEN
5. Harmful Park – PS1
6. Mario Galaxy - Wii *NEW*

I just beat Mario Galaxy with 87 stars and had a blast playing. I'm sure to go back and get more stars, but for now I think I'll move along to another game since this thread is motivating me to clear out my backlog quite nicely. Mario Galaxy is a great Mario game and I consider it a must-have for Wii owners who want a good platforming fix.

Soul Calibur IV 360
TMNT Gameboy
TMNT II Gameboy
Golden Axe Sega CD
Streets of Rage Sega CD
Revenge of Shinobi Sega CD
Rebel Assault Sega CD
Jurassic Park Sega CD
Sonic CD Sega CD
Soul Calibur II Crube new!
Altered Beast Genesis new!

Back to my last post...

I beat Golden Axe with the Dwarf, which may be my 100th time beating the game. I'll beat it again this year too, I know that for sure. There are games I consider "Weekend Morning Games" and this is one of them. A game you can spend less than an hour to beat, and goes great with a bowl of cereal. Still love everything about this game.

Streets of Rage- Another great weekend morning game with some of the best video game music of all time. It comes as no surprise as the composer is renowned for his incredible video game scores..The music kind of course.

Revenge of Shinobi- This game makes the same mistake so many other games do: Great sound. Great Graphics. Stiff controls.

The game isn't fluid for me. It's fun, and the special attacks are fun to watch (although one special attack will kill you if your health is too low, which is a big disappointment when about to beat a boss). Not sure if I'll repeat beating this game this year.

Ack again! I may just update on the first page from here on now. No need to keep posting updates other than my original posts. The "new!" will make you aware of my progress.

That special attack that kills you actually kills you no matter what your health is. It's very powerful though, so it can come in handy on the final boss, who takes about a bajillion hits and kills you in 2 or 3 anyhow.

Metal Torrent- DSiWare
Kirby Super Star Ultra - NDS
DoDonPachi - PS1
Cruis'n USA - N64 *new*
Cruis'n World - N64 *new*

TOTAL: 5

So I recently picked up Cruis'n World, after having played with Cruis'n USA off and on for several years and generally enjoying it. I'd heard the sequel was better, so decided to check it out...

These games are not as good as their obvious inspiration (the Outrun series), but they are probably more fun. I had actually never played through USA all the way to the end, but am glad I finally did as for every odd detail I encountered (the St. Louis Arch at the end of Iowa?), there were also nice touches (the jet in Chicago, the bugs in Indiana, the money tunnel in DC, etc.). Cruis'n World is a much better game on almost every level - graphics, control, challenge, unlockables, etc. - they are all superior in the sequel. The final level after NY is a real surprise and a great treat that I won't spoil :D

I played both on a N64 Ascii steering wheel I acquired this fall, and must say that I was very impressed by how well it performed and how great it was to use. If you get a chance to pick one of these up for the N64, I'd recommend it!

1. Mercs (PS2)
2. Darkstalkers 3 (PS1)
3. House Of The Dead Overkill (Wii)
4. Mega Man 3 (PS2)

DISCLAIMER: I beat Mega Man 3 on easy mode. Normally I always try to leave any game that I beat on the default difficulty, but I was talking to Flake recently and he mentioned some awesome unlockables on the Anthology if you beat the first 3 games. Now here's the hard truth -- although I'm a huge fan of the Mega Man games, I've always had a difficulty beating them. I can usually beat all the main robots/levels, but then I get stuck somewhere in Wiley's castle. I do remember beating this one but it was a loooong time ago. Anyway, he suggested running through them in Easy Mode so that I might get better at them and then I can unlock some cool shit. ("It has an Easy Mode?!") So I figured, yeah -- why not? I've been calling MM my tied for favorite (Zelda) series for the last like 20 years. I've put in the hours, so I gave my self permission to just fucking run through it like I had a Game Genie. Well, it felt like I had been working out with a medicine ball for the last two decades and somebody finally threw me a basketball. I ran right through the game without breaking a sweat. And I hadn't seen the ending in easily fifteen years, so it was very nostalgic for me. I think running through it on easy gave me an excuse to finally just sit down and play through the whole game again since I knew it would only take me a few hours. Anyway, still a favorite of mine. Big time. I think 3 is my favorite of the series. And definitely my favorite music.

From some of your most recent posts, it sounds like you're liking the ps2
