What's the oldest piece of clothing you own?
Re: What's the oldest piece of clothing you own?
Verifiably, my dad's old favorite t-shirt. Has a silkscreened picture of a goblin and the artist signed the print JMZ'67. I also have some polyester shirts that look pretty old from thrift stores. I used to wear them clubbing when my friends and I were trying to revive the late 70's & early 80's.

Daily wear - tshirts from the mid 90s
Formal wear - collapsible top hat that my grandmother picked up from an antique shop in the 40s it is from the late 1800s and really needs to go to a haberdasher and a tinker.

That I actually wear would be my Grandfather's wedding ring, which he gave to me a few years before he passed. I loved the ring as a kid, and when I was a teenager my Grandfather promised one day he would give me that ring.
He gave it to me when alzheimer's started to really take over his well being. He presented it to me when my entire family was there, and needless to say there were many tears. My Grandfather didn't proclaim he was losing the will to live, but that he understood that the disease had changed his life for the worse, and that death was sneaking up on him. As a family, it felt that all at once we realized this was a passing of the torch moment.
I don't wear it as often as I should, but... Ya know... Just seeing the ring brings back memories and gets me a little emotional.
I also have an old t-shirt, but no good stories there.

I own the true Shroud of Turin. I'm about 60% sure that it's the oldest piece of clothing I own. There is some uncertainty, though, since people argue over whether or not the golden fleece counts as clothing. If it does, then it's my oldest.

If this fig leaf I own counts, I beat everyone here.

I dont keep a lot of clothes so I wear mine till its totally worn out. I'd say around 2002 or 2003 is the oldest at the moment.
