Dusty systems
So I have a problem. All of my systems keep gettin' dust all over them!
I take pretty good care of my systems, all of them on a wooden shelving unit below my TV. Plenty of space around my systems. An idea how I can keep'em Dust-free?
Thanks
Thanks

There's a particular type of cabinet I want to get for this purpose. They're called Lawyer Cabinets I believe. However, they are antiques and will cost more than putting up a glass door.

Re: Dusty systems
Its really simple. Rub a clear plastic ruler on your carpet loads and then place it behind your consoles. The dust is then attrated to the ruler rather than the consoles, however you have to rub the ruler again every 2/3 days. Its not the best method but its what i've done for years.

This is so simple it blows my mind. I will have to start doing it.Frizz.Meister wrote:Its really simple. Rub a clear plastic ruler on your carpet loads and then place it behind your consoles. Re: Dusty systems
Don't put consoles on the top shelf. That way less dust can float straight down on the consoles. It's worked for me, my black gamecube (on second shelf) has no dust and my black genesis (on the top shelf) is always dusty.
And, if all else fails, a dust rag once a day.

This. Also would be a great solution to the "I'm hungry but don't feel like cooking thread."noiseredux wrote:my wife dusts like twice a week.
I just want to separate the cereal from the mouse mask.

Does this actually work? That's such a simple solution, yet so genius!Frizz.Meister wrote:Its really simple. Rub a clear plastic ruler on your carpet loads and then place it behind your consoles. Re: Dusty systems
Its not perfect but it reduces the amount of dust on console by a huge amount. However you do get one dusty ruler which if put behind the consoles can get sucked in by fans and such. My physics teacher told me to do it back in the 9th grade and i've never not done it since. Monday, wednesday and saturday i just know i have to rub the ruler.Veno wrote:Does this actually work?
