Hobie-wan wrote:Yet another vote for avoiding the binders. As mentioned, if you get some grit in the sleeve with the disc, it will scratch. If you need to find a game? You've probably got to at least flip through a few pages to find it even if you have each binder labeled that it contains "Castlevania Chronicles through R-Types".

Finally found a copy of Ghost in the Shell for a decent price? Well shit, now I gotta change the label of this book to "Castlevania Chronicles through Pro Pinball: Fantastic Journey", plus the books that come after it. Crap crap crap, I also have to shift all the discs after GITS over one slot too. :x If they were just on a shelf you could slide them over and perhaps move one item on each shelf of 30 down on a few shelves.
yep. co-sign.

I use binder to store my stuff, and I store my cases in a box. I trust myself not to lose them. Yeah they probably do scratch up a disc eventually, but they're so damn convenient, and I seldom have come across a disc that a cotton cloth and windex didn't stop it from skipping or having other scratch related disc issues. There's also resurfacing which can be done cheaply.

I keep all my discs in the original cases except the PS1 games. I can see what Jerkface Killah means, just simply not enough room, for close by access. In my case over 300 PSX games. The PSX long boxes also add to the storage nightmare.

So all the old Playstation games are in two binders in Alpha Numerical order with all the inserts and manuals, right under the coffee table. Pages can be easily moved around in the binder, though still a pain to add just that one more game. I don't think the grit is an issue if the discs go right from the binder to the console and back again. All those games don't make that many trips out of the binder.

I had to put the long box games in the bottom part of the pages so the tall manuals would fit. Before anyone head explodes, all the original cases are in two cardboard boxes in the closet.

Thankfully, HDAdvance allows me to store the PS2 games in the original cases safely in another room. Current played games are installed in the Fat PS2 hard drive.

I've had bad luck with CD/DVD binders and scratched discs. Some kind of abrasive foreign grit always seems to get into the binder, and then it scratches up my discs when they press against one another. Very annoying when it happens to DVD games. Fatal to CD games.

I'm in a dorm and thus pressed on space. I only use the binder because I have nowhere to put a bunch of DVD cases. I leave those at home.

And this is the reason I have to pay a premium to get a complete copy of a game off ebay, and the reason trying for a collection of complete snes or nes games is out of my pricerange.
