I'm sure the 3DS Lite will have better battery life, but that's still depressingly low.

The only issue is you can't do that anymore.

The DS Phat was impossible to find until late 2005 to early 2006 right before the DS Lite came out.

...What? I was given a DS Phat in August of 2005. My mother didn't have any trouble getting the DS, either.

I lived right in the tri-state area of New-Jersey at the time. Now I'm living in North Carolina and just about as far from Charlotte as I was from NYC.

Anyone in a close proximity to ANY metropolis is going to go through hell and high water to get one in an actual store for the right price.

For example Kinect system bundles around the holidays: We had people coming from Virginia, South Carolina and Charlotte just to avoid paying internet markup. Small towns sell less and therefore have more in stock during time when other high volume areas would be slammed. Once our area's stock ran out it was pandemonium and people started begging us if we could get more or help them avoid paying the crazy online markup.

I want to preorder one, but the only question I have is when it will be released. If it is rumored to be released in the states in March, I want to know when. I have a week off in March from school for spring break so I'll be home and I need to know if I need to preorder one at school or at home. I guess I need to wait for this Nintendo announcement on Jan 19th.

Pre-ordered my 3DS today. I was third on the list so they should be able to guarantee me one. Said they'll phone me back after the 19th so I can choose a game to pre-order with it too.

I can't wait til the 19th, I want to know more. Im hoping the EU launch line-up is better than the japanese one, but even if it's not, I don't mind waiting a little to get my 2nd or third games for the system.

Thanks a lot Nintendo. Any reason why I shouldn't pirate games when you do something like that? Anyone from Europe remember how long we had to wait for the Phoenix Wright games to be released here? (the 4th one was actually released here before the 3rd one) Or getting the first Layton game 9 months after the US.
