Movie Commentary

So I watched this great movie last night and I noticed it has commentary. Now at this point I've watched the whole movie so I don't really want to go through it again but I want to know what the Commentary discussed!

Does anybody else listen to movie commentary here? If so when, I was thinking maybe the next day so the movie is still fresh in mind but not so much to get sick of it.

This could touch on video game subjects as being forced to play the game again for a better ending or realizing after you beat a 'one sitting' game that you missed something awesome after reading online ect. Would you wait another day or dive right in?

You know when you get done watching a movie and you're just like "That was great! I just can't wait for a sequel"? I watch the commentary for movies like that. It let's me watch the movie again, but with something added so I don't get bored watching the movie twice in a row.

Movies I would recommend the commentaries on Spinal Tap and any Kevin Smith film. Movies I watch with commentaries are ones that I could watch a million times and not be bored with. If you have to ask if you should, doesn't sound like this movie is worth watching again.

Commentary is fun and often gives you some interesting insights. They usually comment on what's going on on the screen, and it doesn't really feel like you're just re-watching the film. It's a different experience really.

I just noticed that I hardly ever listen to the commentary...
However, I do like the MST3K commentary. Of course the commentary is the only reason why you'd watch those crappy movies.

my all time favorite commentary track is the one that Eli Roth recorded for Blood Sucking Freaks.

I dont think I've ever watched a film with the commentary on. I'm sure that whatever is said is interesting and insightful, but listening to somebody talk all of the top of a perfectly good film would just irritate the hell out of me.

However, when I have watched a good film I normally go to the PC and read all the interesting facts and interviews that I can find.

I watch the commentary for things like the simpsons, or other tv shows I like, because they aren't as long as movies so I don't feel so bad watching it again. And I will watch the commentary when its one of my favorite movies or just something I would want to learn more about.

I rarly bother with commentaries and extra features on movies I buy anymore because I just don't have the time with all the other things I need or want to do. However, there was a "movie geek" phase I went through where I would obsessively listen to commentaries and watch bonus features on all the stuff I watched and I actually learned a lot about the movie making process. I also found many of those commentaries very entertaining. So commentaries gets a thumbs up from me

For comedy, Evil Dead 2's commentary is great, as one would expect since Bruce Campbell is involved. Robert Rodriguez commentaries and dvd bonus features are great for educational purposes if you are an aspiring movie maker or just want to know how to make a movie on a budget, which he is a master of(just look at the original El Mariachi). Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica commentaries teach you a lot about the writing process behind tv shows(and yes, writers generally do wing it a lot of the time and don't plan everything ahead of time). I always liked the very laid back feel of Ron Moore's commentaries. He's just chilling out, having a drink, and sometimes his wife will even show up and provide her own thoughts)

I love Joss Whedon commentaries too which are usually both funny and educational. The guy's a genius
