I think it's important for games to have a lasting impression on you and make you want to revisit them. Many of my favorite games are games I've poured hundreds of hours into, whether its because they're long RPGs or games you can speedrun in a half hour like Megaman 2.
How well games stack up over time is the real test of a game's merits.

Another great review, Flake. You've made me definitely wanna think of this one the next time I'm looking for a game to get.

I just got this game... it's pretty cool so far. I like using the directional pad for certain attacks (while holding B)... it's weird at first, but starts to make sense. Kind of like using the right Joystick to swing Raiden's sword in MGS2. It makes it feel more like movement, which swordplay pretty much is.

I bought this game even before I got my wii!
I was a big fan of Odin Sphere! and about six months ago I bought this game for $12 bucks at my local sears.
It was well worth it!

Nice review, Flake. I've yet to dive into my copy, but I thought I'd chime in with some linkage to a good price on the game: http://www.warehousedeals.com/Muramasa- ... ce=froogle Warehousedeals (Amazon) is where I grabbed my copy, Currently, it's marked at $13.99 shipped. When I bought it here a couple months back it was $11.99

I love this game. I got it for my birthday not long after it came out. It's absolutely gorgeous and even though I might put it down for a few weeks I keep coming back to it. Definitely a good game and an excellent review.
