I know right?
Hopefully I can make this work and score something as I'm gunning for this as my first accomplishment of the year.

Re: Buying first car need help! (80's Honda or Toyota Hatchback)
I also totally need some help finding crash test and reliability info on this car.
I can't find any info on cars older than 1995 online anywhere so any help would be a good boost to my confidence.
It lacks airbags or ABS but that's par the course given it's age. Retrofitting either seems to be making it a money pit unless anyone has a really good solution. So, I'd like to know I at least have a decent crash test rating from when it came out.
Not to mention I have no real way to check on reliability for it.

The only thing I could find as far as safety ratings was here: http://www.crashtest.com/explanations/archive/crash.htm
For reliability, I usually use carsurvey.org and check whatever one has to say. Here is the link for the 86 accord. http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/honda/accord/1986/
It's usually a good indicator of what to expect out of older cars.

Thanks lwcook!
I guess Priority #1 now is to rice removal (aka un-fucking the damage done by the previous owner' "tuning"). I can live with a stir-fry half & half engine for a bit, but I'm gonna want to work on getting it back to factory shape.
Tips and guesstimates on cost?
