Usually there is a purpose to both forms of prose.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

If you knew those facts, then what were you planning to accomplish exactly?

Make another "Let's shit on GameStop!" post? We've got plenty of those already. If Luke were around, he'd tell you we have a thread for that.

In fairness, GameStop shits on everyone else more than enough to earn it. Regardless, this is still a pretty pointless topic.

Which was exactly my point: To illustrate how wrong it is to pretend something that has been downgraded from its original condition can still be sold as mint. Hence the defiled bill. You can still buy stuff with it, but would you really want to be paid with one in that condition?

Dude... lighten up. If I wanted to shit on Gamestop, I would have made a post titled "Would you kindly help me rag on Gamestop, because obviously I am the first person ever to notice how wrong their policy is, and feel indignant about it."

I empathize with the general feeling that they aren't a good corporation, and that there are other options, that was however the point of my post, with an ironic tone to it. Please don't tell me you didn't see it. This forum always struck me as the standard Neo-Geo.com and Gamefaqs ought to be held against.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to strangle the homeless guy I saw in the corner; that way he won't have to suffer what's left of the winter, or the sizzling summer we're probably bound to have next August.

Gamestop seriously sells opened games as new, for full price?

I would never buy such a thing. The best way to stop that kind of shit is to not buy it.

It's happened to me. I have a copy of MGS3 Subsistence here in my hand, with the receipt showing the full price, as if it were brand new. Yet it has the stickers they put to reseal them after they take them out of the shrinkwrap. (Why? To make sure the game is actually in there?)

Which is why I seldom buy new stuff from them, like you said.

Then just buy your games elsewhere. Problem solved. What else you need help with?

Does nobody realize Gamestop keeps shrinkwrapped games behind the counter? If it's actually on the shelf then chances are they have one behind the counter. The only time I've seen an opened "new" game is something that's old and out of print but they want to clear room for behind-the-counter games.

Would you kindly tone down the flame? I apologize if this has somehow (somehow) offended any of you here. I've checked other threads and I didn't find other discussions handled this way.
