hi guys
quick question:
I don't want to have my Wii soft-modded anymore, since I don't use it for anything else but emulators, anyways...
the problem is that most newer games require that I go through the homebrew channel in order to boot them (they ask to update in the Wii channel) and there's generally just too much of a hassle having a modded Wii
now, if I was to update my Wii through Nintendo, would it be "bricked" or go back to being a default Wii?
I'm not sure how to "un-mod" it otherwise and I'm not a kind of mod-expert when it comes to the Wii

Just run nintendo's update. It will remove the soft-mod for you unless you install bootmii in the nand (or wherever it's installed).

Hell, if you keep up to date on your updates to the Homebrew Channel you can install official Nintendo updates and keep Homebrew Channel.

Re: remove soft-mod (update Wii)
The way the Nintendo updates "disable" the homebrew stuff is they delete files on the Wii's hard drive with a certain filename. So the people who wrote the Homebrew channel released an update with a new filename. Thus when the Nintendo update goes through it doesn't see anything untoward and leaves your Homebrew channel intact.
