I used to keep all my audio CD's in something like that, until mysteriously half of them where all scuffed up and couple wouldn't play anymore... that's all I have to say about that.

Always safely stored in the proper cases, never compromise

Back when my music collection was all CDs I kept my discs in a couple of similar binders. The problem was, if any type of foreign matter managed to lodge itself between the disc and the backing of the sleeve, scratches would result. With a typical DVD case, the only disc surface making contact is the spindle, which for me is ideal. Even jewel cases are better as far as I'm concerned, although I've transferred all of my PSX, Saturn, and DC games to DVD cases to keep them more secure.

I use dvd binders for my movies and games, because I go from chicago to cleveland a lot, and its easier, but man do I hate it!!! Beware of how you handle your discs too, light scratches can occur if you aren't very careful- if you are going to be traveling- then its a good way to save space, but otherwise, find another method

The only time this is acceptable is when you're storing backups.

I've found that DVD/CD binders tend to scratch up discs something fierce. Not only that, but organization is a huge hassle if you have a large collection.

+1 for back-ups storage. I gotta vote for keeping stuff (CDs, DVDs, games, etc) in their respective cases.aaron wrote:The only time this is acceptable is when you're storing backups.

Yet another vote for avoiding the binders. As mentioned, if you get some grit in the sleeve with the disc, it will scratch. If you need to find a game? You've probably got to at least flip through a few pages to find it even if you have each binder labeled that it contains "Castlevania Chronicles through R-Types".
Finally found a copy of Ghost in the Shell for a decent price? Well shit, now I gotta change the label of this book to "Castlevania Chronicles through Pro Pinball: Fantastic Journey", plus the books that come after it. Crap crap crap, I also have to shift all the discs after GITS over one slot too.
If they were just on a shelf you could slide them over and perhaps move one item on each shelf of 30 down on a few shelves.
