Just got a Gamecube!!! What games shoud I buy?

Post by ott0bot »

I found a gamecube at Salvation Army for 9 dollars, and although I plan on getting a Wii it was just too good to pass up. I have one game so far: Pikmin. And I've heard it's fun. I know all about the Zelda & Mario games, and i must get Ikaruga, but what are some great not-so-common US release games I should check out? I generally like shmups and rpgs....suggestions?

F-Zero GX, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 (if you don't have them for the DC), and Donka Kongan and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

I think Gun is a great game It's also on PS2 and Xbox, but I played it for GC.
Atari 2600 (AV mod), NES, SNES (region switch for PAL), Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii (D2CKey), PSX (Stealth V), PS2 (independence exploit w/ 160 GB HDD), Goldstar 3DO, Philips CD-i, Dreamcast, Saturn (racketboy's chip), Sega Genesis 2 + CD2 + 32X + Power Base Converter, Game Gear.

Get Beyond Good and Evil for sure. It's got the best graphics on the cube compared to the consoles it's offered on, and it's a fantastic Action RPG. I don't own any shooters, but I'll list a few of my favorites. Mario Kart: Double Dash is also pretty darn amazing and challenging (not to mention LANable). Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is also a lot of fun if you like platformerish games. Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 are fantastic puzzle/party games. I haven't played Metroid Prime 1 or 2, but most Action RPG fans really enjoy them (and I have Prime 3 for Wii, and it's one of my all-time favorite games).

Since you like rpgs you should check out Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. It's one of my favorite rpgs of all time. Plus, its maybe $10 used.
