My blog at last! And XCOM: UFO Defense review!

Post by Erik_Twice »

After a lot of time thinking about it I finally made a blog. While it's still in early development stages with a pre-made banner (I lack any kind of photoshop skills) I have already started to put stuff in.

Criticism and advice welcome! :D

Here's the blog:

And here's the Spanish version of the same blog:

Off to a great start. As it turns out, I'm writing a review for Outrun 2006 as well! Don't worry, I won't steal your thunder yet and I'll hold off for posting it for at least a few days, most likely a few weeks. Hopefully we can both learn from each other to improve our sites in the future! I'm already liking what you're doing.

Nah, that review is old, it was already posted here. Even then, it doesn't matter if you publish it right now or before me, there's no thunder to steal, OutRun 2006 is a great game and deserves all the love it can get.

Thanks all for the comments, I appreaciate them. I just realized I forgot to change the text for the pictures, they are in Spanish

Something I wonder: If I search my blog with Google I can't find it. Do I have to do something so it appears? Just curious.

EDIT: Seems like I don't have to do anything, because someone saw my blog by looking how to drift in OutRun

Excellent review. If there's one thing lacking in retro-game communities it's retro PC stuff and I always love seeing it.

I very much agree. I don't know why it is that way but I can think of several factors

1) PC gaming has always pandered to a more select and mature audience while the NES and the Atari were always sold as toys.
2) PC doesn't have brand recognition nor well-known characters
3) Hardware evolved constantly, instead of making jumps as consoles did. This makes each game stand alone, instead of being "One of the best SNSE games".

I think it's a shame because there's a lot of good stuff out there that people don't remember.
