I am a regular participant in the Together Retro feature and discussion, but like many of you I also play modern games, games that often have online multiplayer support.
So, I was wondering how much interest there might be in some kind of informal "Together Modern" club where forum members band together to play the multiplayer component of a PS3/360/PC game over the course of a month (sorry those with a Wii and handhelds). The ideas is that games could be hosted by forum members and announced in the thread, perhaps with some kind of regular scheduled time posted in the OP each month.
For inclusiveness, I was thinking we should choose games that have hit the retail mark of $20-$30 or below, so most games would be “older” current gen titles. We could usually run the same game across all three platforms, and throw in a month here and there of “exclusives.” For example…
January: Unreal Tournament 3 (x-platform)
February: Super Street Fighter IV (x-platform)
March: Borderlands (x-platform)
April: Burnout Paradise (x-platform)
May: Halo 3 (360)/Killzone 2 (PS3)/S.T.A.L.K.E.R (PC)
June: Call of Duty: World at War (x-platform)
July: Lost Planet 2 (x-platform)
and so on…
Anyway, if you genuinely think you’d participate feel free to suggest a few games here or share your ideas and we’ll try to get something going!

Maybe we can include a Wii game during those exclusive months. I doubt we'd make it through a year if we had to limit our picks to good x-platform multiplayer games that are also on Wii...

This could also provide an opportunity to play new "retro" games as a community like VVVVVV, Castle Crashes, etc.

So unless people want to play some Monster Hunter Tri, Sonic All-Star Racing, or CoD MW... I guess I'll be out of this.

Re: Interest Check: "Together Modern"
You guys obviously have a PC...maybe you could use that to participate in this instead of just worrying about Wii exclusion...
