Heh heh.
To the OP: While there was no Tomb Raider game on the N64, there was Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. It is in the vein on Tomb Raider, and considered by many who enjoy that style of gameplay to be very good. I enjoyed it, but don't have a lot of experience in the Tomb Raider games myself to make a good comparison.
I should warn you, though, that it's one of the buggiest console games I have ever played.
I don't really care about the backlash this comment might create:
I prefer the first Tomb Raider to Mario 64.
The truth is that at the time the two games were released, I went Sony. And though the bulk of my life was spent as a Nintendo fanboy, that was the one period where I really strayed. I've never really enjoyed the N64 era all that much, and to be frank outside of Mario 64 I can't really think of too many titles that I'm all that impressed with.
Back In the day, I loved tomb raider. I tried playing them about a year ago and I can't bring myself to it. Its one of those games that was great for it's time, but I can't stand the controls.

I'm not alone! I'm actually feeling that love again with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
No N64 games besides Mario? Not even Starfox 64?
I honestly missed out on N64 era. I had PS1 and so did all my friends except one. My one friend with a N64 had Mario 64, MK64 and 007. I wasn't into M64. And I'm not a HUGE FPS fan, so 007 didn't little for me. But MK64 I did love.
Later I checked out the two Zelda releases, and enjoyed them. But I had already played Wind Waker, which I preferred.

I did enjoy the first Tomb Raider though.
Oh thank goodness!
I'm probably the only person that didn't particularly care for Mario 64 at all though. Or really anything on the N64 for that matter.

That said, take your insults elsewhere. Just because you don't enjoy doesn't mean other people can't. Yes the game is a little stiff, but I've never had trouble with tank like controls. Its not that bad, especially considering the time it came out as Inazuma stated.
I was mocking you for playing the Saturn version, using dark yet overly egdy humor, much akin to a line I heard recently in the movie Heathers, "fuck me gently with a chainsaw".
And I took the SATs in 7th grade and outscored a majority of the Seniors who took it that year in the tri-state (NC, SC, VA) area.
Wanna know what that means in the real world? Not much, so when you went to college is irrelevant in the real world.
But I am sorry about your mother's acoholism. My parents used to drink, thought dad was always an asshole. So sorry about that joke.

I thought Super Mario 64 was pretty "meh." I didn't really play it until a few years ago, but I generally felt like it was a case of a good-looking game with some really unpolished gameplay.
I also wasn't that impressed with Mischief Makers, another highly-praised game.
I really enjoyed Conker's Bad Fur Day, but was pretty unimpressed with most of its attempts at humor.
There are plenty of other Nintendo 64 games I really like, though.

I almost want to agree with this but you have to remember the time that it came out. Tomb Raider was one of the very first 3D games. That and Mario 64 were both mind blowing because that they were so different from everything else available at the time.
Despite being one of the first 3D games, Mario 64 was incredibly well done and still holds up very well today. Tomb Raider on the other hand, has downright awful graphics, poor controls and certainly hasn't stood the test of time like Mario 64 has.
Mario's acrobatic movements were very smooth and fluid, and very easy to learn and master.
Moving Lara Croft around felt stiff, robotic and difficult. I would often have trouble getting her to do exactly what I wanted, and I had a hard time adjusting to it. A big reason for this was the Saturn and PS lacked analog sticks at the time. D-pads aren't so great for controlling characters in a 3D space.
I concur. That and if I had to bring out the big 3 that supposedly were out at roughly the same time, Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, and Super Mario 64; my preference would be SM64, CB, and a far last TR. Last for all the reasons above plus that it really looked horrible compared to SM64 & CB.
But back to the OP, not ever once have I heard of TR on the 64. Urban legend or playground BS at best.

I always felt like Conker's Bad Fur Day was a game trying to serve two masters. I felt it had many examples of smart, clever humor, but it was also dragged down by a lot of low brow toilet humor that was aimed at the lowest common denominator
I think this is a problem that used to plague South Park as well, and maybe still does as I haven't watched it in a long time
