I think it'd be fun. My dad does it. The jerseys I have so far are an old Buffalo Sabres jersey (http://thehockeywriters.com/wp-content/ ... jersey.jpg) and a Montreal Canadiens jersey (listed as a Blackhawks jersey on eBay ).
Not having a Blackhawks jersey as a Blackhawks fan makes me sad. But I can wipe my tears on the Hawks zippered hoodie I have.

I'm an on again, off again collector of trade paperbacks and graphic novels, with a particular bias for anything Batman or Joss Whedon related. I would like someday to have everything listed in IGN's Ultimate Bookshelf feature and maybe everything in their 25 Greatman Batman Graphic Novels feature(and towards that goal I actually picked up Batman: Nine Lives today)
I have a fairly good sized movie collection, though I don't consider myself a movie buff(like dsheinem and Ack seem to be). However, I try to keep up with anything good in cinema though(so I just HAD to see stuff like Inception and Scott Pilgrim this year)
I'm a big Buffy fan. I have all of Buffy and Angel on DVD(the original, fancy foldout sets that you don't see in stores or online anymore). One day I want to own all of the slim case sets as well and if they ever get the blue ray treatment, I'll definitely get those too. I have every single issue of The Buffy season 8 comic and most of the Angel related stuff IDW has put out since they published After the Fall, which is the unofficial Angel season 6 according to Joss Whedon and Brian Lynch
I LOVE the animated universe that Paul Dini and Bruce Timm created in Batman: The Animated Series and everything that spawned off of that. I'm always up for adding DVD sets of any one of those shows to my collection when I have some cash to spare. I have purchased nearly every single DC animated movie that Bruce Timm has in some way been involved with like Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Superman: Doomsday, etc.
I have a collection of Magic: The Gathering cards, but since I haven't had a group of people to play with in years I stopped collecting them
It's probably not fair to call me a music collector, since I pretty much only get mp3s, but I have a lot of stuff, particularly European metal bands
I had a goal once of collecting Asian movies, Hong Kong movies, etc. but got rather frustrated by how often those movies would get edited or badly dubbed when brought over to the states. Did you see how they butchered Shaolin Soccer?
I once was an anime collector as well. I have a lot of the more well known, classic stuff on dvd like Ranma 1/2, Tenchi, Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Record of Lodoss War, Ah My Goddess, The Castle of Cagliostro, some DBZ, Escaflowne, Princess Mononoke, Slayers, etc, etc.
Other random stuff, I have the whole El Mariachi trilogy by Robert Rodriguez on DVD, random pro wrestling DVDs, and the whole Evil Dead Trilogy

That Buffalo jersey looks amazing. Gotta love the old time jerseys. Of course I think I'm the only person that actually liked the "Buffaslug" though.
But I do have a Lightning jersey, which makes me feel happy as a lightning fan, and Panthers turtleneck and T-shirt I found at a goodwill.
I just can't stand the Maple Leafs, don't know why, but I guess because I was more of a Sens fan even though they suck too. But I mostly do my hate on the Pens, because of Crosby. I just don't like how cocky he is.

My ocd tends to compel me to collect, but nothing on a truly large scale.
When I was younger I collected matchbox and hotwheels and quite a few different action figures, the Power Rangers among them. I still find myself picking up similar things today (I got a few Alex Ross Justice Figures), but not on quite the same scale.
I have a mediocre comic and manga collection. I can't see either of them expanding too quickly since I'm really only interested in a few select titles. Though I find myself going through the back issues at my local comic store and picking up issues based solely on cover art and art design.
I also have a decent movie collection, limited to what I'm interested in and what I've already seen. Or things I know I'll enjoy like the wonderfully horrible B horror movies.
I have a large book collection that increases steadily every year thanks to my sporadic reading whims and to the local semi-annual book sale the library holds. I don't collect specific series, just whatever happens to catch my interest, but I do currently find myself looking forward to the sequels to Dan Wells, "I am not a serial killer." I've toned down on the book buying recently due to lack of space, but it should pick up again once I get those bookshelves built. I still have to paint the room but once I'm done I'm planning on covering most of a wall with wooden shelves some time this summer. It's only going to be a sliver of what I truly want, but once it's done I'll have a sort of mini-library in the spare bedroom.
how about legos? does anybody collect those? talk about an expensive hobby. i always wanted to get back into them and build big ass cities. but, that will have to hold out until i actually start making real money.
i used to, and still have, a shit ton of legos. in fact, a while back, probably 3 or so months ago, i pulled them out and tried building a castle. unfortunately, i didn't have nearly enough wall pieces and the project was scrapped.
