Is Doom 3 Backwards compatible or not? I went to my local gaming store and picked up a copy of Doom 3 for Xbox that said "bc" on the label. When I got it home it still will not play on my 360, even though all software is updated.
If it is backwards compatible, could anyone tell me what I need to do in order to get it to work?

Wikipedia wrote: According to Microsoft, each game needs an emulation profile to run. These profiles can be downloaded through the Xbox Live service or from Xbox.com and burned on CD or DVD recordable media. They are also routinely distributed as part of the content on the Official Xbox Magazine monthly discs. The profiles are downloaded as a single bundle, and hence only need to be applied once per update (if doing so offline), or are automatically downloaded the first time a compatible game is inserted.
The Xbox 360 hard disk is required to play the games on this list. The hard disk is used not only to store the emulation software, but also to store saved games, store downloaded content, and to serve as a data cache for titles which utilize disk caching. Since games for the original Xbox were designed with the expectation that a hard drive would always be available, most titles rely heavily on the presence of one.

Re: Doom 3?
on that note, if you can find a way of playing it with a friend, DooM 3 on the Xbox kicks serious ass in co-op (unlike the crappy PC version)
it's more action and less.... "scary" than the PC version

The original no. If you are talking about Resurrection of Evil, which was released on both PC and Xbox as well, then you'd be correct.Lord_Santa wrote:on that note, if you can find a way of playing it with a friend, DooM 3 on the Xbox kicks serious ass in co-op (unlike the crappy PC version)

The expansion pack is 1000x more fun than the original.

Re: Doom 3?
The one I am wanting to play is Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. I have an Xbox 360 elite and thought it would play but I guess may just have to take it to a friends who has an original Xbox to play.
I loved Doom on the 32x and played my cousins Doom 2 on his computer. Back then they scared the crap out of me. Really want to try this one out too.
I also heard they are coming out with a Doom 4 for 360?
