I need HELP Getting games on a Smartphone

Post by NathanBarnatt »

I have a motorola Q9m. I know you can get nintendo emulators on it but i dont have a PC that i can connect too. i own a mac so i can't do emulators. Right? What can I do can't i just go to a site and click "download game" then play it? Do i need Java? Whatever that is, where do i get it? I went to one site where supposedly i could get games but everytime i clicked download my phone said it was unable to display the info. I think i need java.
Does anyone know anything about this stuff? I dont. I would LOVE if someone could give me easy steps and links to things.
Thanks

you can get it from the site of whoever makes the game you want or perhaps your carrier's web site, I doubt it will work for emulators though

Yeah exactly. Can the phone handle homebrewed code? Or do applications need to be signed to work on the phone? Unless it's using a Symbian operating system the amount of brewed softwared is limited to Java, which is very limited, especially when you're talking about emulation. The only other operating system that will be supportive of open code will be a linux based phone (like the new nokia net tablets). Even then the manufacturer could have security that won't allow unsigned code to run on the phone.
