Puzzle Fighter vs PS2 Slim - SOLVED!
apparently the PS2 has trouble playing a short list of PS1 games. Super Puzzle Fighter II is one of these games, but I'm curious specifically if it'll work on a slim PS2 (model 79001). Has anyone tried and knows for sure?

Re: Puzzle Fighter vs PS2 Slim
DAMN I KNEW IT! Noise I have tried at least a dozen times and my MINT copy never plays. I got it to work shortly one time years ago and no luck since then. I have slim silver from the first batch released for your reference.noiseredux wrote:apparently the PS2 has trouble playing a short list of PS1 games. I play most of my ps1 games on a ps3, but I keep a ps1 lying around just in case I ever need it for certain games.
You can find old ps1's DIRT cheap if you look around.
shit here's one for $6

They use the same A/V connectors as the ps2 and ps2 controllers DO work on ps1s. Only thing you might not already have is the power cable, which is a pretty universal one anyhow.

I already have a GBA copy. Besides I've looked at the list of games PS2 has trouble playing and Puzzle Fighter is it... there's no way I'd buy another console just to play one game that I have another port of.AppleQueso wrote:I play most of my ps1 games on a ps3, but I keep a ps1 lying around just in case I ever need it for certain games.

BUT I was just curious if it's ALL slims, or just specific models of slims that have trouble. (bradtemple can you check what model # you have on the bottom of yr slim?)

Re: Puzzle Fighter vs PS2 Slim
Just tested my Japanese Super Puzzle Fighter 2 X on my Japanese PS2 slim (SCPH-90000) and it works perfectly fine.
I've played my US version before on my US PS3 and it also worked fine. I don't see why the US slim would have trouble with it.

Either my machine has extra pixie dust or those times I was playing the game while sick I was hallucinating something fierce.The SCPH-30001 has problems with most games that have a blue/purple disc back. This model has problems running these games:
* Legend of Dragoon
