Regular games and regular music CD's work fine.

I read quite a few times back in the day that all the DCs that couldn't read backups simply needed the pot tweak adjustment. Personally, I've never come across a DC that couldn't read one, but I know someone online who swears his never could.

I just tried it and it worked! My dreamcast does play music CD-Rs. I guess I'm burning them too fast. My dreamcast may just be finicky compared to my friends dreamcast.

Slowing the speed down still did not work! Can someone direct me to a site that tells you exactly how to burn CD-Rs for a dreamcast?

Help with burning

Post by tdinc-Paul »

After many trial and error attempts to burn high quality Dreamcast games. I would like to post the way that works for me.

The most important and #1 thing is to have high quality media CD-R

Taiyo Yuden Silver Thermal Lacquer 52X CD-R are the best. I would not use any other media.

#2 is to get a copy of Discjuggler - search the net and you will find it.

#3 - Many dreamcast games come in two standard formats .cdi images or .bin & .cue files.
.cdi images are bootable and are the standard for Dreamcast games. Try and stick with the .cdi images.

#4 to burn use the tutorial http://www.racketboy.com/guides/burn-dr ... images.htm

if you have any issues let me know and I can walk you through it.
