Do you wish you had a more focused collection?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I think its better to have a diverse game collection, even if it is thin all around. I just buy games I want and jump from platform to platform. Heck, I own Six Neo Geo AES games, but only three Saturn games. I really need to fix that (I've played a lot more saturn games than that).

The system I have the most games for is Gamecube, at 39 unique games. SNES and NES are catching up with 22 and 29 respectfully.

Just buy whatever game tickles your fancy, that is what I am doing. and ignore the penis measuring contest on youtube.

I wont lie, I have games for a variety of systems and I always regret selling a quality title even if I'm not playing it.

Again, I would have participated had I not participated in the Holiday auction, and had it not been so soon post-christmas

Good luck though

Yeah, at the end of the day, I don't care about anyone else's games (I mean, they are cool to see and all, but what's most important is yours), and the main reason for this is, is basically for the games. Most people are gamers, even collectors are gamers. (Some just happen to have a shitload of games they will realistically never get to)

I would hate havin such a large collection like many people out there, simply because that is way too overwhelming, and I'd like to collect more unique things like accessoires and memorabillia, the top of my priority list is the games.

My collection is all over the place. I am in the process of tiding everything up. I am not going to get rid of anything, except some doubles I have, but i want it better organized. I also want to have 50 games for a system. Not sure why, but I think it would be cool. I am close to that with ps2, so I might buy a few cheap games I have my eye on.

I want to beef up my saturn collection too.

I buy games for the systems I have so that I can play them and (hopefully) enjoy them

I don't see much point in collecting games I wouldn't want to play (sports-games, per example)

then again; I'm a gamer, not a collector
*high-five* :D

I know what you mean. Originally back in high school I didn't have much money so my gaming money was spent much more thriftily. I would always set a goal of, if there are at least 10 games I want to play on a system then it's worth it to me to get the system.
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

That's pretty much the way I think about it too.

Though the one system I tossed the rule aside for was the DC. After seeing Sonic Adventure in Akihabara on a demo kiosk in '98, I knew I had to have it ASAP.

I think I did the same, because as a "young adult" I finally had some money to spend having a part time job and all, I no longer could get by with just my Genesis and my PC. Later on I would get the Saturn and everything before it, but the Dreamcast is what I spent my own money on, and absolutely had to have no questions asked.

I've been trying that for about 2months now. I find i have to be goal orientated to achieve it though, so i've said i wont post my collection here, untill it is a collection, rather than 300+ games in a students cupboard :P

I've cut down to about 130 now and sold my nes stuff, ps1 stuff, and snes stuff (except mario allstars its just too awesome) Looking to get rid of my master system stuff as personally i think the consoles awesome, but for every good game i have, i have 20+ bad ones...

Also some advice. Do i sell my Mega-Drive stuff? There's some great games and it sort of a peice of my childhood, but i NEVER play it. Not to mention PAL 32x consoles are getting difficult to find.
