Re: Random Thoughts Thread
back during the nes days, did anybody else use the term 'conquer' when a game was beaten? i know my family and i did.
for example, it seems most people these days would say, "i just beat final fight cd."
but i remember long long ago in a galaxy far away my family and i would say, "I just conquered final fight cd."

I haven't for many years, but I used to say that all the time when I was a kid. A friend of mine way back in the sixth grade used to give me an unholy amount of shit for it too.

No, but I recall back in August or so when my nephew was three, he would watch his dad (my brother-in-law) play Primal Rage on the SNES. After a match, when the game would say, "Sauron Conquers," he would run to tell his mom, "Sauron Conquers!"

I just signed on a new account, and I plan on using JT's bum reference in an upcoming meeting about taking care of business issues now before they get out of hand.
