The next thing you can do is threaten legal action. Even if you plan to take legal course of action against these people a threat of doing so can often yield results. This got me my security deposit back from a place I rented last year. Look up Maryland law, at let me tell you, what they're doing is not legal in Maryland law, and quote it to them. Tell them you'll press charges if they do not comply with your request.
Alternatively I live very close to College Park, Maryland, where Goozex is based. Would you like me to go there and slap em around? Now that I know this is College Park I feel more confident that a call to the police may be effective. College Park doesn't have a lot going on, so I believe the police would be free to tend to your needs. The other option would be to get your game from them directly if you're coming to MagFest.
I still use Goozex

that may get me in trouble though. Like they could say I encouraged harassment or something.ZeroAX wrote:I still think we should flood their inbox with complaints

We could write a civil message here that everyone could copy and paste, something like this:noiseredux wrote:that may get me in trouble though. Like they could say I encouraged harassment or something.ZeroAX wrote:I still think we should flood their inbox with complaints
Hello, I am a video game collector and I use a wide range of sites over the internet to help me in my collecting. I am a member of a retro gaming community and it has recently come to my attention that you have misbehaved to one of our finest and most honest members. You have intervened in one of his transactions where there was a mistake. It is my belief that the party responsible for that mistake was you, because of your wrong listing. Yet you have come in possession of that member's game and you won't return it to him unless he pays for the shipping. I am sorry to inform you that I find that to be a very wrong policy and that I won't be using your service until I've heard that you have send the game back to noisederux, Thank you for your time

though that is civil, I think flooding their inbox on behalf could be viewed as harassment of some sort (I'm certainly no lawyer...). If anything that same sort of civil letter signed by a bunch of people would probably be less viewed as harassment.

You're playing it too safe.

Can someone please remind me why so many people died the past 3 centuries fighting for democracy, only for corporations to become our new lords?noiseredux wrote: though that is civil, I think flooding their inbox on behalf could be viewed as harassment of some sort (I'm certainly no lawyer...). I can understand your dilemma though. If you want to write a single formal letter signed by people I'm willing to give you my real name to put on it. (we'll just say I'm an immigrant

I'm just trying to keep the high-ground through this whole thing. Ideally, I'd like to get my game back at their cost and never once come across as stooping to their level.Jamisonia wrote:You're playing it too safe.

Ideally this story will cost them 1000 times more (in lost customers) than them paying the P&P to send you your game.noiseredux wrote: Ideally, I'd like to get my game back at their cost and never once come across as stooping to their level.
How much do they make from each transaction anyway?

Re: I'm done with Goozex
a single trade token costs the customer $1.99 -- after overhead/blah blah who knows how much they get per trade. But yeah, just think if they had put up $2 in shipping they wouldn't be paying somebody to answer all my emails. I'm just playing it like the Fonze. And you know what the Fonze is like, right?ZeroAX wrote:Ideally this story will cost them 1000 times more (in lost customers) than them paying the P&P to send you your game.noiseredux wrote: Ideally, I'd like to get my game back at their cost and never once come across as stooping to their level.
