Serious Sam... Serious Decision!

Post by fvgazi »

I played SS: TFEHD for the first time on XBLA a few months ago and I enjoyed the game quite much. Now that I'm pretty close to beating it, should I get The Second Encounter HD on PC instead of xbox360? I know the game has a cult following, but what advantages does the PC version have over the 360?

You can't really go wrong either way, it's all depending on if you prefer the Xbox 360 controller to a mouse and keyboard approach. Either way, The Second Encounter is easily one of the best FPS games to ever be made in my books.

Alternitively, remember that the Xbox 360 is fully compatable with the Xbox version of Serious Sam, which was a combined game with both the first and second encounter games on it. There's some pretty major differences between the XBLA versions and the original Xbox build.

The XBLA versions do look better, but the original version used a life system has a score and allows for two weapon hotkeys. Not only that, but the XBLA version of each of the two encounters is $15 while the Xbox version that has BOTH games can be found for $5-8!

I love Serious Sam. (Sorry, wasn't really adding anything worthwhile.)

Mouse and Keyboard

That is all.
