Really, Berzerk is probably the game to play before you die.

Only if it's the director's cut.

Look OP, we have these topics all the time. It doesn't matter how you phrase it, best games ever, games to play "bofore death", best games per genre the topic is the same and we never have cool discussions in them.

Nothing against you, simply this topic has been done to death, there are better ones.

If I were about to kill someone, I'd make them play PitFighter (SNES), Phantasmagoria 2 (PC), and Donkey Kong 64 (N64) before death.

That game doesn't even exist. :P

A mere three games is illogical.

The depth of gaming is too deep for something as small as three games. Perhaps a top 10 per console.

Because it's unplayably bad. If I wanted to spend hours looking for things, I have a house full of them. It doesn't have motion sickness inducing framerates or pop-up to deal with either. The concept is bad (searching is work, not play), and the implementation is bad (every other N64 platformer is technically superior). The only redeeming value is the DK64 rap, which can only be enjoyed ironically. I say this without any hyperbole, I've had a lot more fun with ET on the 2600 than I have with DK64. I can't think of any better game to prepare someone for an untimely end. They'll be begging for mercy.

I agree. Why hasn't anyone done a top ten list on this forum before?

Also, I've only ever played one PS1 game. As long as I avoid playing all of the top ten, I can't die, right? Wait until the US military discovers this!
