I was looking at Dreamcast VGA mods on this site, and it got me thinking: 'Is it possible to make a HDMI slot in the Dreamcast'?

Is it actually possible to make a HDMI mod for the Dreamcast?

I know most people just go VGA > HDMI, but I was just wondering.

One would have to build and cram an encoder in there.

Your generic Thread title could include Dreamcast VGA to HDMI to get more Replies.

Better to buy an external encoder, so you could also have a hookup for a laptop.

agreed. Monoprice makes a VGA to HDMI converter that works for this job.

It wouldnt support it but it is a great idea for great console. If you plan on putting a vga on there the diagram below will help. And then you can get a hdmi converter for next to nothing. Here is the VGA Diagram:
