A better option would be to get a flash cart instead.

The biggest issue is the size of the board you have to work with. Console carts have a ton of empty room for the chips (and you tend to need extra chips for the larger games). Handhelds are very space constrained. I once looked in to how one might do a Game Gear repro so I could get Shining Force Gaiden Final Conflict playable on hardware and it seemed technically infeasable, as the existing chip has a built in mux and there's no way with off-the-shelf parts to reproduce that in a GG case.

Well I know for a fact that you could make Gameboy repros, I found a little info on that. And I found very little info on GBA carts, it isn't clear to me if repros using donor carts are possible though. A bunch of people have asked me to make Mother 3 repros. I don't have enough info on the matter to warrant buying the new adapter I would need for my programmer.

I had to file away some of the inside, but i managed to fit a flash cart inside of an original gba cartridge case. Works perfectly, saves and everything.
The second one i made works too but i had to carve a tiny square notch in the top to charge to keep saves intact.

If you can find it, the G6 is a GBA flash cart that can fit in both a regular GBA shell and a thin shell for the DS Lite. That's what I used to play Mother 3.

This is gonna sound odd, but all I want is it to be like it was actually released here. I don't wanna go through any Flashcart screens or anything like that. Yes I'm picky like that

GBA expLoader + 3-in-1 flash cart is how I played it.
(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Yup. or if like me you have a DS get the GBA sized 3-in-1 and an EZflash for the DS. Get a label made and you won't know the difference.D.D.D. wrote:GBA expLoader + 3-in-1 flash cart is how I played it.
