Yeah, I highly recommend getting a 360 Slim. I have all three current gen consoles and the Xbox 360 is my favorite (by far!). IMO, it has the best exclusives and online interface. Also, achievements are more fun than trophies for some reason. IMO, the 360 is the true gamer's console of this generation.

Re: xbox 360 woth getting?
I have all 3 current gen home units. (PS3, Wii and 360),.
The best of the lot?
360 without any doubt.
Console failure (and I repair them) is ALWAYS operator error.
Our 360 is the primary DVD player (the ps3 isn't despite being hooked up to the same tv both via hdmi) and is on most days, managed 3 years with no issues. Gaming sessions over the holidays have been 6 or so hours at night as i can't sleep when off work.
I don't play online so that has no bearing on me, however I do download demos etc and xbox live is 100 times better than PSN which is awful.
The problem is for some reason people are stupid and tend to become fan boys, just like cars, ford or gm etc etc
Very few will have all the consoles (Like I do) and be actually willing to admit they wasted money.
My nintendo Wii for example, its used as a charging station for the mobile phones and my 360 controller as when in standby the usb ports are still live.
The PS3, the 360 is much better to watch dvd's and films off a usb stick. However the ps3 is quieter than the 360 when watching films but the pictures not as good. Blueray quality wise isn't that great on the ps3 either.
The 360 versions of games that are on both the ps3 and the xbox the xbox has the superior version.
the 360 controller is amazing.
I could go on but theres no point.

Amen. My Wii's only used for netflix... upstairs. The 360 and PS3 are the ones that are used. And the 360 is used more.silverback wrote:I have all 3 current gen home units. (PS3, Wii and 360),.

I disagree... Most of the great niche titles are on PS3 or Wii.. I'd personally rather have a steam account than any of the 3 however..darthmunky wrote:Yeah, I highly recommend getting a 360 Slim. Re: xbox 360 woth getting?
From my own personal experience of using all 3 consoles, PS3 is currently the best at streaming Netflix and DvDs.. Say what you want but the Blu-Ray drive in that console but it is still one of the better ones on the market.. I'm not saying Xbox 360 is bad or anything, but it isn't worlds better than the other consoles either.. And I'm sorry but is that a joke about the controller? The ps3 controller is way better for Fighting games, platformers and racing games.. I'm sorry but you also mention fanboyism.. Are you trying to start another argument?silverback wrote:I have all 3 current gen home units. (PS3, Wii and 360),.

Pretty much.. You just need a very good PC to play the more recent games like Bad Company 2, FF XIV, Civilization V, Fallout: New Vegas etc..jfrost wrote:Wii and PC have you covered.

Simply not true. I've had a 360 RROD on me just by squinting at it. First ever console system that's EVER failed on me. And I have many.

I don't stream movies so I have no experience of that. I do know its cheaper to go out and buy the films rather than pay the zune prices here in the UK.EvilRyu2099 wrote: From my own personal experience of using all 3 consoles, PS3 is currently the best at streaming Netflix and DvDs.. I used to love the dual shock controller as I said.
It is in no way anywhere near as good as the 360 controller. The ps3 controller is lightweight and cheaply made, its also sized for childrens hands, my 2 year old can hold the ps3 controller fine.
the ps controller is in no way better for racing games, the xbox you use the triggers its natural, ps you have to use the sticks which is awkward.
My hand gets terrible cramps after an hour or so on the ps3 but can play hours on end with the xbox controller.
i have to say i'm surprised as your the first to ever have said the ps3 controller is better.
I am not starting arguments I am simply telling the truth, I have bought all my consoles with my own money and the games and the big plasma tv's to play them on.

Ok thats your experience.Thierry Henry wrote:Regarding the 360?

Mine differs and after repairing hundreds of them and older consoles its always been operator error. of course the 2nd hand units passed off as new don't help either. This happens more than you think, even sealed ones have been used consoles.
I have had many and still own many, probably more than most on here. But none of mine have ever failed.
I tell a lie 2 of my games gears wouldn't work until I replaced the capacitors, but thats not the same thing now is it.
