My advice: Use the built-in wireless

I don't use ethernet. Too much of a hassle. :P

First, thanks to everyone for the help! Much appreciated.

I was going to try and blow on it but I didn't know if I was supposed to blow the port on the 360 or the cable itself

To clear up any questions about setup. I have an ethernet cable running straight from the modem into the 360/PC when using the internet. This is the only option. There are no ways to mess this up as this is the only port. I live in what is essentially a hotel room. So getting a router or setting up wireless is rather pointless. Not to mention I have to put everything away every single morning before I leave.

I did manage to get the problem fixed. I had to go in and manually set the MAC address on the 360. To do this I had to do some stuff on my comp to figure out the MAC address and then enter the 12 digit code into the Xbox 360. What is weird is it worked for probably 2 weeks without having to do anything. Then all of a sudden it stops working and I have to do all of that nonsense.

If you were having to clone the MAC address of the PC on the 360 for it to work, then it was the modem or whatnot you were connecting to that was suddenly being picky about only liking that device's MAC hooked up. Are you in one of those extended stay suite places? Maybe they're set up to only allow 1 device hooked up every 6 or 12 hours or something funny to keep lodgers from sucking up too much bandwidth or something. Maybe you were catching it just right when the timer would reset?

I have so many issues getting that thing online I don't even bother lately. I just download any cool new digital releases on my PS3. X-Men Arcade and Sonic 4 for example

I hate the 360. It has some great games, but I still hate the console and Microsoft

Sounds like this. This is what my friend in University accommodation has to do. They only allow one device to connect to the internet, if you want to be able to plug in a different device you have to pay for the internet AGAIN, even though there's only one ethernet socket on the wall... So my friend just changed the mac address on his laptop to the same as the one on the 360 and he can swap between them without any problems.
