Well that's special. I just sent as gift, but it still made me pay $2.36 in fees. Either I could pay it or stiff Dave. Obviously I covered it. Did anyone else run into a fee despite gifting?

If you don't have the money in your PayPal account and you transfer from a credit or debit card, you're forced to pay the fees. If the money is already in your account, you're fine.

Bleh, I guess I've just had money in my account every other time. My Paypal account is mostly used to pay for ebay crap and I don't sell a ton so my account is usually empty. Oh well.

I spent $71 on other people's things and my stuff earned $96.50. $167.50 is a pretty good total IMHO.

Curious when I might be able to start keeping an eye out in the mail for Timeslip? Or are we waiting for everything to get paid for before shipping information is sent out to the doners?

Yes. I am going to ask item donors to ship by the 15th, but they may start sending later this week once I give them addresses.

Right, if you send as a gift then YOU pay the fees instead of the receiver. If the money is in your account then you don't pay fees. Also, if you're transferring from a bank account, you don't pay fees. Since this is my default payment method, I never pay fees when sending as a gift.

Okie dokie pokie. Man, I don't envy all the work you have had to do for this charity! You guys in charge deserve a serious pat on the back, and a beer. :o
