Re: Is there a Super Mario All Stars Wii shortage?
Sold out in my big town and the next big town over as well. I checked 8 different stores (everywhere that sells video games) last night. I also noticed the red Wiis are long gone. Many red DSiXLs still on the shelves, though...

Probably because enough people know the 3DS is comingk.vlaros wrote:Sold out in my big town and the next big town over as well. I checked 8 different stores (everywhere that sells video games) last night. I also noticed the red Wiis are long gone. Many red DSiXLs still on the shelves, though...
And I don't think it needs to be said, but just in case no one thought about it, be sure to ask if they have the game or not if you don't see it on the shelves. I went to K-Mart to get it the day it came out and they didn't have it stocked on the shelves. They told me when I was checking out that they weren't going to put it in the case, but rather keep them behind the counter or in the back. So *shrugs*. Give that a try if you haven't already.

What worse is the people who buy them therefore justifying the gouge.Bradtemple87 wrote:I hate price gougers

Around here it's 25€ brand new so I'm pretty sure it can be had for much less.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

What does a SNES + Mario Allstars + Super Mario World set you back? By the sounds of it, a lot less than the Wii compilation at the moment, and you get another great game.ZeroAX wrote:Perhaps it's for people who didn't/don't have an SNES? Nintendo dropped the ball big time. A quarter of a century Mario - this should have been every single non-Wii Mario game in every language on one or two discs with all box and manual art included. Hell, I would have happily paid $150+ for that sort of thing, as would have many collectors.
Instead we get a single SNES game that should have been $10 on Virtual Console?
I'm a big Nintendo fan most days. But that was just poor form. It was almost like they forgot all about the anniversary until the last minute, and all they could squeeze out was this rushed nonsense.
Seriously - get on eBay and buy a SNES, Mario Allstars and Super Mario world. You'll save money over this Wii version, and end up with an extra game to boot.
Re: Is there a Super Mario All Stars Wii shortage?
I've been watching the videos on the Nintendo Channel. There's interviews with Miyamoto where he says they wanted to put something out that was cheap in price. The way he explains they came up with the idea to put this out with the soundtrack and art book, he sounds sincere.
I finally tried out the Wii game. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was definitely disappointed. I mean, I knew it was just Mario All-Stars, but maybe I thought there would be some kind of splashy new intro or something. When you start the game, it's exactly like power up the cart on the SNES. No difference at all.
The game disc is nothing more than what you would have got downloading All-Stars from Wii Shop.

I bought a copy with the intention to keep it sealed. I can't believe I could already cash in on it, though I think I'll hold onto it for the next decade or two.
