Lunar PS2 compatibility?

Post by redmachus »

So, hopefully someone out there can clear this up for me.

Basically, I'm deciding if I want to get a PSone, or spend the extra money for a PS2. I don't really want to spend the money for both right now, though I'm sure it will happen at some point. I basically want to play RPGs, and two that I really want to play are Lunar and Lunar 2. However, I've heard conflicting reports that they won't play on the PS2, or on certain models. Others say they play fine. Still others say that they will play, but won't save, thus prompting you to throw a controller through your television screen. Any thoughts on the subject before I waste money or destroy my television?

I'm not really a fan of PS2s backwards compatibility, I own both the PSOne and the PS2. Personally if you want to play PS1 games play it on the PS1, It just feels right for some reason.

I never had a problem and I had the first model number. However, I have not tried it in the slimline ps2.

Doesn't feel right and working perfectly fine are 2 different things. here is the answer you are looking for. If you only want to ever play mPS1 games then why spend the money o a PS2. However, PS2 has many RPG and other great games. It will play OS1 games with no issues. You just need a PS1 memory card to save games that you would need anyways with a PS1.

If you can find one for a decent price, I would aways recommend just going ahead and getting a PS2 because there are just so many good games for cheap now, nearly eight years after the PS2's release. PS1 bc is perfect on the PS2 as far as I know.
